I’m hoping it’s not correct, but it would appear after 20+ years service, Keith has been axed as club photographer, with the role outsourced. @YTBFC can you shed any light on this? Horrific move by the club, if true.

It is correct, no idea about why but I struggle to understand how anyone could make a case for getting rid of Keith. Top man.

Obviously don’t know what has transpired but it’s a shame when someone’s been doing the job for 20 years .l thought it was still Stan Bulmer

The mistakes just keep coming don't they....I wouldn't expect the club to explain their decision, as they don't tend to like to do that.

Looks like the club is trying to score another own goal with this decision if it turns out to be the case. ‍♂️

So nobodies any idea why he's no longer the photographer.

    Grab the pitch fork.

Too bloke. Really sad to hear this after he’s done this for 23 years. They are outsourcing his work to an agency is what he mentioned. Feels a bit like we’re losing another connection with the Barnsley community.

    From his Facebook:

They say all good things must come to an end and sadly for me this has come true.

Just over a week ago i was told that after 23 years as Official club photographer of my hometown lifelong supported club that i was no longer required as the club had decided to 'outsource' the photography work to an agency.

I'm not ashamed to say i was truly gutted when the news was delivered but respect the clubs decision.

I'd like to think i always gave 100%, represented Barnsley FC in a professional manner and made a few friends along the way.

I've had the pleasure of working with some brilliant folk - Matt Goodwin, Lamps, Whitey, Clarkey, Stokesy, Sally Hegarty, Laurie Handley (one of the nicest, kindest men in Barnsley) to name but a few.

I've also worked alongside some cracking photographers, honestly way too many to mention but if your reading this you know who you are

But there's summat i'll miss more than most and that's the car journey's with Callum Cooper and Matt Bailey to the away matches - we've had some reight laughs - these 2 lads are superb commentators and massive Reds fans, they are friends for life even though Matt can moan for England

I sincerely hope everyone has enjoyed my work over the years and i've captured many memories for folk not only on the pitch but with the mascots and fans off the pitch as well, it's been a pleasure.

Fortunately, for the time being, i'll still be at Oakwell covering home matches for the Barnsley Chronicle, they kick started my career in 1999 and i plan to honour my commitments to them, i owe them a lot.

The picture attached is with my stunning daughter next to gate 40 (a few years ago) - it's the media entrance and will feel a bit strange walking through there in an unofficial capacity for the Port Vale match next month.

Finally i'd like to wish all the staff and players at our club all the very best for the future - I've not met the new gaffer yet but fingers crossed he'll lead us back to the Championship next May.

Thank you and C'mon you Reds ⚽️

    Stretch x

That's even worse that at every match he will see the person who's taken his job.

What a lovely post and what a horrible thing to do to someone after 23 years of commitment. I really hope they see sense like they did when they tried to do that to Matt.

Took a year of fans complaining to overturn that though. Hopefully someone sees sense though.

The club sympathisers will still try and dress it up...... Can we outsource the CEO position at Oakwell? It seems that is where the problem continues to be and has been for a while

Doubt many will dress it up. Maybe more to it, who knows, but it feels like an own goal.
