While I was down at the ground the other day I had a walk around and yes there was a few positives, all the fences and bollards and turnstiles had been painted and he steps and they looked really really good. But I also noticed that the banners around the fanzone were all hanging off and looked a right mess. Surely it wouldn't have been too hard to take them down?

But what I really noticed was the banner that was up advertising season tickets. I don't know how long it has been there but it seems the biggest waste of money in the history of barnsley FC, including that idle ******* from Belgium. The reason it seems a waste of space is where they've put it. After the working dugouts hidden away on the fence of the old school which will be seen by basically nobody.

I've circled it in the image below and then zoomed in to show that it's actually there

Am I alone n thinking that the location they chose is a colossal waste of time and money?

I'm guessing it would have cost under £100 - with the idea being it'll be seen by people coming from town or going back that way after the game

Only by a small minority of fans though. How many actually walk all the way down to the end of grove Street? Call me crazy but it would have much more exposure on the front of the ponty end

Yeah the doors have been painted but they need weather boards and the fences above the turnstiles need painting

I noticed that on the east stand. Everything up to say 8 foot looks great but the metal fencing looks terrible. Didn't want to criticise it too much though because what has been done looks good. Agree about the weather boards too. Send someone down to Screwfix and stick an aluminium kick plate on the bottom of each door.

A lot of people walk that way. Up there into town over Nudger's bridge.

It's a small minority though. Of those who do walk into town about half of them walk down grove Street and along Pontefract road and of the other half that walk the other way I'd say half of those go up Grasmere road so of those who walk into town it's probably only about a quarter who go to the end of grove Street and up Belgrave. Again. Isn't the front of the ponty end more visible? Far more people see things there. Just seems like poor marketing to me

It'll be seen by anyone dropping their kids off at the soccer schools running most days over the six weeks holidays.

Not really. Where it is with bushes growing round it it doesn't really stand out much at all

Just think, we could have given George Williams that 80 quid on top of what we offered him a few years ago! He may never have gone to MK Dons!

Seriously need to get a grip of your life if your actually complaining about that.

Perhaps we should have attached it to a wildebeest and watched it sweep majestically across the plains, attracting new supporters from far away lands.

I thought it might be one of your old Mads Andersen bashing threads.

For the avoidance of doubt, it was indeed you.
