Pulp are one of those bands that everyone knew in the 90s but actually what did they sing? I can think of maybe 3 songs that they had success with. Common people, disco 2000 and I'm sure there's another one but can't think of it. Were they selling out arenas back in the 90s?
Got tickets from a friend that can't make it. Taking my daughter to her first concert. Can't wait (just hoping I can get rid of this banging headache I've woke up with). They've got a decent back catalogue (imo). They sold out Sheffield Arena in 1996(?)
Just had a look at those and can honestly say I don't remember them at all. To be honest I'm not very good with music but pulp has always been one of those bands I've always known were really famous but at the same time never known many songs that had success.
Pulp headlined Glasto back in the 90s. Yes, they were a last minute cover for someone who got ill, but they killed it, completely owned the festival.
Sleezy, sexy, superb! from flogging themselves around the toilet circuit for 15 years to headlining Glastonbury. What a band. I’d check out 2 albums if yuh want to start delving into the back catalogue… 93’s Intro - the gift recordings and 94’s His and Hers, these really got the ball rolling so to speak, both are joyous
Babies Razzmatazz Lipgloss Do you remember the first time? Common people Sorted for Es and Whizz Misshapes Disco 2000 Something changed Those were the big singles but there were loads of songs played at indie nights and uni parties from the Separations, His n Hers and Different Class albums Sheffield - Sex City OU Stacks
My other half is going. Mainly because he loves Richard Hawley, who is on at 7:45pm. Should be a fantastic gig tbf.
They stepped in to headline, first year I played there, 95.? I can’t remember who for, but they absolutely nicked it.. The homecoming tonight will be awesome..
They headlined Glastonbury in 1995, when the Stone Roses dropped out. Fantastic set, and the highlight of the weekend.
