I'm glad you managed to get a good seat. Unfortunately as a family of season ticket holders this wasn't an option for us as there were no guarantees of being able to sit together.
The thing is though, he didn't. He didn't because the club gave the option of taking a pro rata refund instead. Something which there is no excuse for withholding if indeed that's what has happened.
More like the OP is trying to cause another ‘let’s bash the club post’ It was a great night that night, different stand, 3 points and still sat with my team…….all at the drop of a hat, however if I’d have been sat on my tod guess what? I’d have just gone along cos there was Fuk all the club could do at such short notice
No they aren't. They weren't guaranteed seats together so took the option of the refund - as offered by the club. They're asking a genuine question to see if any fellow Reds fans were in a similar predicament. Instead he's been met with a load of replies saying that "we were alright", which doesn't help him one bit. You don't know the number of people in his party. Whether there were any access issues like when Farnham Red's Dad was kicked out of his seat. Or whether any of the party had mobility issues or a disability. Its a fair question - don't be so defensive.
If they were told they could have a refund by the club then that is what should have happened. And without having to nag about it.
He said guarantees. Remember there wasn't much time to sort things so decisions had to be made quickly. The club offered refunds for anyone choosing one. They simply have to follow through with that if they haven't already.
Wow, I never expected this! The way some people think I'm using this as a stick to beat the club by is pretty daft tbh, very rare I bash the club about anything. I'm actually more in the happy clapper brigade if anything! This was a match held in March, and pro-rata refunds were offered, so I took that. I didn't expect to hear absolutely nothing for four months, meaning I asked this question in case anyone else had received refunds a while ago, and I'd simply been missed. The size of our party is irrelevant. The communication that was put out said there were no guarantees of being able to sit together, but the earlier you got there, the more chance you had of sitting together. Our family situation means I can't get there ages before kick off for evening matches, so I decided not to take the risk. I don't go just for the football, it's something we do as a family thing. I also didn't realise at the time that we had been allocated some of the away end, so assumed we had a choice of the rubbish seats in the Ponty, or the uncovered ones in the West Stand. But as Fonzie says, just because you were all ok doesn't help me one bit with the simple question I asked. Obviously I'm happy that you all got sorted, but I think what's come from this question more than anything is a complete lack of respect. Thank you to the odd ones who have been helpful.
I think it’s just a case of perception against reality at the minute Googs. Almost every thread on here is started by one of 4 or 5 absolute doom mongers who spend their day playing mental gymnastics to find a way to bash the club. Any other threads are hijacked by the same gaggle who then proceed to cry foul when their silly posts get challenged. This board is exhausting to read at times at the minute, to the point where I’m considering having a break until the actual season starts. And I think you’re caught in the crossfire a little. It’s a really poor do if you don’t have something you were promised 4 months ago and it needs fixing ASAP. Really hope it gets sorted soon for you and others affected. I’ll defend the club more often than not (they’re my club after all) but they’ve well and truly dropped the ball here and should be called out for it. Good luck with it all!
