They say that nature abhors a vacuum and on the internet usually fills it with rubbish.
I get that our (is he major shareholder now? certainly leading player on the Board) is probably a private person but I have to say we could do with some more flesh on the bones.
I've googled him before and it's difficult to even come up with the right guy let alone his background. All I know about him is basically bits and bobs from Gally. He's a football fanatic who started as an investor but became a fan.
At times like this I do think we need a little more from him just to bring a little calm and reassurance. Not nuts and bolts but how he feels about the club. What his current vision for it is.
The current Board are putting in money with, as far as I can see, little chance of ever recouping it. If all they cared about was cash then I think I'd have cut my losses by now if I were them. As they haven't I'd have to say we seem far better off under the current lot than many alternatives lurking out there. See the likes of Coventry, Blackpool, Oldham, Bury, Wigan even Wednesday as warnings of what can happen.
Nevertheless a little more direct connection with fans in terms of his inner thoughts might steady a few nerves.
    Or have I missed something?

The guy is very much an enigma. Like you say it’s impossible to find anything out about him on the internet, as it comes up with a guy that has the same name and is quite wealthy. He was rarely at games last season, you can probably count on your hand the number of times he attended. Not really a look for our chairman. I’m sure he said when the new board held a press conference that he was willing to be the face of it, but he’s barely around. Just seems a strange situation.

    He’s Chair of the Board.

The CEO is their appointed member to run the club.

I don’t think there’s much more they can say currently, with it being an investigation.

Spot on. The CEO is the mouthpiece. JAQ and Neerav have become fans. it's there to see when they attend meetings. I never saw lee. But Conway never came over as a fan.

Business comes first in their lives it's not unusual. Most premier league chairmen are foreign investors and rarely show up at games. Conference calls have done away with behind closed doors boardroom meetings. They dont have to be physically present at every one.

She's very much a 'choose your attitude' kinda girl is JAQ. She doesn't really blend with the typical morose outlook of a Barnsley fan, especially those on her social media of choice, where most of the loons hang out.
The older I get, I do tend to agree that you may as well look on the bright side cos the alternative only affects yourself and puts yourself in a bad mood, the focus of your ire rarely gives a shìt or is unaware of your beef.
    Chin up all.

The loons, can do untold damage and give a false impression of the general fan. You only have to look at the incident with James Cryne at Crawley. Patrick said he (James) didn't want to continue, due to the abuse. I said he ought to think about the majority and not a handfull of idiots. He's still here.

I remember that incident. Who was it who posted on here who said they were sat near James on the train and that it never happened?

Probably the same person, who didnt follow him to the toilet and see him confronted. (Just a guess btw) I have no proof of the incident other than take Patrick's word for it.. not summat I'd see the need to lie about.

Not surprised. The past isn't important. The here and now is. We can't rest on what was achieved months ago. We have previous of following a good season with a bad one. There is plenty to be negative about so if fans who have been around a lot of years want to mention that, they are entitled to.

I suppose it depends on your definition of rarely. A dozen home and a dozen away plus cup and playoff games wouldn’t be mine. Especially when he lives in India. Dedicated would seem a better adjective to describe his attendance at games to me.

I wasnt being evasive. I do remember the same being said. It wasn't aimed at you. But more the person that posted it. Unless he was following James around the train how would he know it wasn't true. Sorry if I gave that impression.

I just want to point out that I didn't start this thread as a criticism of Neerav. My thoughts are simply that it might do a bit of good if he was a tad more visible and it might help to keep the toxic element in check. Actually who am I kidding, most of them love to be toxic!
Nevertheless something like a sit down chat put as free to watch on ifollow could do no harm whatsoever and purely from a personal point of view I'd like to see what makes the guy tick.
High fives to JAQ too. She says what she thinks and good on her for doing so. I hope the twatter morons don't dampen her enthusiasm.

Yes he’s a very private person but looking at the disgraceful way some of our fans talk to JAQ on twitter and instagram, I think I’d be exactly the same. It’s shameful at times. If there was more information online it would likely only be used as stick to beat him with anyway. Patrick was always very private but he’d make himself available at the right time. Aren’t we seeing a continuation of that?
Since becoming chairman, he’s made himself available for questions, which he’s answered honestly in my view, multiple times. He’s talked about his background, fairly sure there are videos out there. He spends a large part of his time at the club and working for the club these days, something he never expected to do when first getting involved, especially as he lives in India

I get people are worried about this FA charge but my view is this is a means to an end. Short term pain for long term gain (maybe ridding the former board members permanently). Seems unlikely we’d get any sort of large fine or points deduction in the circumstances. The club can’t say too much about any of this though from a legal point of view so you wouldn’t get any more info even if there was a fans forum tomorrow. Wait a couple of weeks (I think) for the result.

We seem to lack any patience as a fan base. We seem to take any scrap of information and use it to beat the club with. It seems like it’s worse this closed season than I can remember. Why though? We’ve just had a great season. We recruited well last summer. The fans really got behind the team and there were so many positives. But now we’ve got people coming on here and social media and making baseless claims that we are being sold or there’s something in the air or recruitment is some how impacted by this charge. The reality is we aren’t and it isn’t. We are in the best place we’ve been for years. They are still unpicking the mess of the previous board. They said it won’t be a smooth ride when they took control last March. We’ve had a few issues to deal with this summer but they will be. We should have some confidence with the staff at the club, our recruitment process etc. We’ve had more misses when we haven’t followed the recruitment process in recent years. Speak to any of the staff at the football club, moral’s the best its been in their memory.

I’m fairly sure, when the pre-season is over and we know what our squad for the season looks like there will be opportunity to ask questions of the CEO/ Board/ Head coach. Let’s have some patience and see how things play out. Let’s see what our recruitment looks like when it’s finished. Nothing is going to change any of that anyway.

As a fan base, we have the best access to CEO and board of nearly any team in the UK. I don’t know if this is part of the problem. Are we so used to knowing what’s going on that we have developed this demand to be updated on a weekly basis? We need a bit more faith and a bit more patience. Maybe if we are a few months into the season and utterly terrible that might be time to have a moan. We’ll get the chance to ask the questions but let’s just have a bit of patience first?
