As good a striker signing as we could make I think. Needs to improve his work rate though which hopefully he will after a preseason with us. Definitely a player in there and can finish.
Massive backwards move for me. Didn't put anywhere near enough effort in during a promotion push. Saw nothing to suggest he would again
Can’t say I’m that enthusiastic on the move as I think the loan was a bit of a failure overall. The lad can finish but that’s literally it.
I agree, look at Coles improvement when he got a consistent run if games, I'm sure Watters would look much better with the same belief shown in him. Could be a good signing on a free.
Not sure what to make of this lad great finish against wendies at home and very good at mk when he came on. His debut was a disaster and didn't do much else was quite happy when we fetched him in in January as he had done it at this level. Which Max will we get.
Not overly convinced with what I saw of him last season, but it’s a sign of where we are as a club I suppose.
I think you're miles off the mark with that assessment. I just saw a rusty striker, short of match sharpness. I'd take Watters over Tedic any day.
Surprisingly I also think Tedic with a run of games would come good in this division, can't see him been prolific but offers a different dimension and compliments others....... He was only a bit part player last season and never got a run really
Honestly, if Bolton had signed him it would be enviously posted here. He might not be the best but based on where we are a good signing. I’m not sure Toby tyke would’ve scored from that chance against wednesday at oakwell anyway!
Tedic is a massive handful for defenders and may well go on to have a career at a much higher level than Watters. But we need someone who will hit the net regularly at L1 level next season. I believe that's far more likely to be Watters.
That would be a cracking deal if true, cost them a million pound. Would have thought they'd want a least a bit of money back.. even just a few hundred grand.
Watters: 7 in 14 for MK Dons at this level. 13 in 15 for Crawley in L2. 4 goals for us last season, which was the best goals for minutes return from any of our players. Marsh and Jalo - one professional goal each. Now, I'm absolutely sure that Jalo will go on to have a far more glittering career than Watters. Not really sure about Marsh as haven't seen enough of him to comment. But we need goals in League 1 next season, so I'd say a 24 year old who very obviously knows where the net is at this level would be a pretty sound signing.
He won me over after he started poorly with us , if he is coming on a free he would be an excellent addition & I think he could well do a job for & assuming he is willing to come here must prove that he like the place & was settled here which is beneficial .
Great signing if true, on a free. I agree with certain comments i.e his work rate, but his goal scoring record is more than decent. Hopefully, him coming a league below on a free after high expectations may give him a kick up arse and puts a little more effort in, as, in my opinion, he definitely has talent for it. Hopefully a good run of games and he'll smash it for us.
Marsh couldn’t get a game with Scunny before his injury. Jalo has talent but nowhere near a regular starter. Watters is an improvement on Cole.
I dont understand the hate, he's the kind of player once he gets the bit between the teeth, scores, thats what we need. He was a bit rusty for us but I can see this working out well.
