Just been away with the missus and her mum and Step dad, (all are big sheff utd fans).. her step dad has said theres a rumour (not sure how true) that they are interested in Michy Batshuayi.. so IF ALI's brother moves over here do we think he'll be keen to stay and put the graft in?

    Nah.

Said it a few times that I think he has some ability that should do really well in this division. But he’s got to want it. And it appears he doesn’t.

Could do with getting his wage off the books sooner rather than later.

Says a lot when he's on bench for both halves tonight. He's off if he cant get a pre season game before some of that lot

I don’t think it matters what he wants. I think he’s on a big wage for league 1 and for us. Ultimately I think it’s Barnsley who want him gone in order to allocate his wages to two new players.

Unless he leaves on loan then we won’t be selling him, what other club is going to take on those wages? I really can’t see it happening without BFC losing out in the process IE paying him up, and if we’re willing to do that then we may aswell keep him.

He did nothing in the Turkish 2nd division so you’ve got to ask the question what sort of level will he been loaned to next & how much of his wages will that team cover.

I’ve heard he’s on around 7k a week, are we even going to find a club willing to pay 1.5k of his wages given how underwhelming his last 2 seasons have been? If so we might as well keep him rather than paying him off or paying 70%+ of his wages whilst out on loan.

I agree but the fact that Collins is treating him exactly the same as Duff did tells me that his attitude clearly shows that he doesn't want to be here. Only in football are you obliged to pay someone in full even when they aren't doing what they're being paid to do. It's a disgrace.

Keeping him in those scenarios for me depends on other circumstances.
If having him around has a negative vibe around the club then they should bite the bullet and negotiate a release cost.

For someone who has not performed for the last two years and has another two years on his contract the club have to either bite the bullet and pay up his contract or accept a small percentage of his weekly wage back as a loan fee.

No club in their right mind would pay anything close to his current alleged package, and certainly zero transfer fee, leaving the club significantly out of pocket either way.

Conway the gift that keeps on giving.

If he's on 5k a week, thats over a million pound he'll be taking out of the club with 2 years left on a contract.. and then there's Styles who also dosent play.. and can't get rid of... utter lunacy

Yeah and if sits around the club for 2 years it will still be a million at least getting rid of clears a playing space and we know our budgets accordingly

I know that, but stay or go the club is still taking a million pound hit. And he's not going to leave without it. Unless is agent got him a move to Saudi, then it would costing him to be here... we could only dream.
Can anyone see why we've been doing our shopping in ALDI yet..

£5k a week is £260k pa, £7k is £364k pa. So cost of paying contract up is of the order of £500k to £700k

The extent of the pay for Iseka and Oulare was clear when we were quoted as only the 11th highest wage bill when excluding those two when with them it was top 4.

Why have him on the bench then? Surely if he wasn't doing it in training he wouldnt even be selected.

Is the reason he isn't playing due to some game related bonuses, i.e appearance fees etc??

All I know is that last night in the second half as good as the youngsters performed there was nothing upfront, why would he not even come on for the last 15 mins.

Hopefully Doug et al. will be asking these kinds of questions.
