1 nil to Hull. Terrible, terrible marking from Cotter. Looks to be a bit of a liability for some reason. Has been flying into tackles in a friendly that he had no chance of winning. Then when I think it was Connell who had a word, Cotter was pushing him away.
Going the wrong way about it making 2 fouls both worthy of yellow cards, refusing to go the referee because he's too busy arguing with his team mates!
I thought he looked half decent going forward but nowhere defensively. Pretty much what we’ve seen before.
It will be of his own making if so. As for pushing and arguing with your team mates in a friendly, needs a swift dry slap from Collins at half time.
I haven't seen him tonight, but when I last saw him, I thought he was great going forward, but crap at defending...which was worrying, for the position he was playing.
Saw him walking through Town earlier from my office window. He had some white socks on paired with white sliders, sounds as if his defending is as bad as his dress sense.
Not seen the game tonight but have seen a clip of the goal. Can anyone give me an answer as to where cotters meant to be? Looks like a no win scenario as we’ve lost our shape as a team. Cotters tucked himself in as there’s a player unmarked on his right hand shoulder he’s tried to take a middle ground between him and hulls left winger at the back post. If he stays out wide with hulls left winger the ball would’ve been played to the unmarked central player and he’d be criticised for not tucking in when he knows no ones tracked back to mark the central man. Long story short he’s left with 2 men and apparently the goal is all his fault. Laughable. I know the lads not brilliant defensively and needs a lot of work but scapegoat spring to mind here!
Midfielders not doing their job in tracking back which leaves Cotter with the choice as to mark his original man or try cover the open man in the middle.
Worse player on the pitch first half. Needs to massively improve defensively as he’s good going forward. Must have got caught out 10-15 times during the first half. Fortunately the lad from Burnley covered him well a few times, as did Lopata.
