Diesel the terrier, 13 years young. Sadly can no longer use his back legs or eat and is in the latter stages of cancer. It’s bloody horrible, like waiting to be shot. We don’t deserve dogs, they are far better than us.
lost my great pal Fergus early this year,he was cairn terrier 15 years old. Ian still not ocer it yet. Isend my heart to you and your family I know your oain mate. Like me try to look back to the good times it helps. My prsyers are yours.
Heart goes out to you gravy chips. If Diesel is as you describe it’s definitely time to let him go, but I know how hurt you will be.
We're in a similar situation mate, our wonderful dog Ty is in his last days, he's 16, he's not in pain, but, he's very slow and sleeps a lot. This fabulous dog has been my steadfast friend and comfort throughout some horrendous days, months and years for our family, he has given his life to us unconditionally, he loves us and by jingo we love him utterly and totally. I feel your pain my friend, but, I would say that the memories of your time together will, I'm sure, ease the pain eventually. Sorry for your loss mate.
It's sh#t mate. We had to have our dog put to sleep a year ago tomorrow. He was 11 and his back legs had gone.Think of him all the time. Remember the good times you had with him. I was once told" Better a week to early than a day to late."
He’s gone now. The vet came to the house and was wonderful, though the process was heartbreaking. It can’t be an easy profession to have grown adults blubbering their eyes out all day
Sorry to hear this but I'm sure he had a great life with you. And you've done the kindest thing in ending his suffering. Love the name Diesel!
Feel for you very much. It's really no fun losing a pal. They are our life and soul and more often than not the reason to get up in the morning.
Nowt wrong with crying your eyes out. If we can't cry for close friends and family members then its a crap world. No doubt he gave you affection with no agenda and no strings attached. Best wishes.
I’m sorry Gravy Chips. Diesel is freed from the pain he was in now. Look at photos of him, cry your eyes out and remember the good times.
Sorry for your loss mate, well done for having the vet come to your house though as I know it it is far more expensive to have your loving pet put to sleep at home....top man!
Sorry for your loss we had our sky put to sleep 3 weeks ago with cancer I was and still am heartbroken
So sorry for your loss, old friend. It's heartbreaking to lose your best friend and long time companion. Diesel was cerainly loved greatly by you, Gravy Chips. Condolences.
Not had this ‘pleasure’ yet but it’ll come, my best friend is 14 now, when the day comes I’ll be knocking on your door asking about coping strategies. Give the old lad a pat from me. Up the terriers ( that allowed on here?)
Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately I know the feeling as I lost my beagle dog Jade to old age (13 years old) and cancer about 3 weeks ago now and without sounding selfish or anything, it still hurts her not being here. I also lost my cat to cancer and old age (14 years old) in 2021 which also still hurts as much as losing my beagle dog Jade . I just kerp telling myself I will see my dog and cat again on rainbow Bridge when anything happens to Me and my family. R.I.P.. Jade Beagle Dog ❤ and Fifa cat❤ aswell as your dog.
