Apparently on his way out at Watford, worth a look? Could we afford his wages?

At his best he'd tear up league one, but probably not when it comes to the wages. That's a Derby County signing if ever I've seen one.

Hes scored 29 league goals in his career and hes almost 28 year old, I dont think hes ripped it up anywhere hes been - he will have made a pretty penny but I think hes wasted his footballing talent, or his agent has at least

He averages a goal ever 6-7 games? I could play in goal & score more than that. No thanks.. :)

When was the last time you watched him mate? He really isn't the player we thought he'd turn out to be

not for a while tbf mate but I think his record is actually ok, strikers tend to come good later on in their career too.

The recruitment model seems to work well for young defenders and midfielders but not for strikers so I think we need to do something different …I think he has quality and would do well in L1 :)

Strange career has Fletcher. Seems like he's chased the big contract over the opportunities to play and score goals.

Good luck to him like - him and his family are set for life.

You never know where his career would have taken him if he'd have chosen a club where he'd make 40 starts a season.

I actually do think he'd do okay for us in this league too(don't think as well as some of us would hope) ,but I just don't think its worth the risk with his ages. Already had bad experiences with a certain 2 Belgium strikers on big wages :D

He would do well if he could be arsed coming to league one and playing for £4k a week. Will probably sign for Wednesday. 4 year deal. £25k a week.

Beats me how he can still seemingly command such wages

Val was very astute with his strikers pressing. If he doesn’t think Fletcher can do it, I don’t think Collins will want him either.

Think that's a bit harsh to be honest. The lads only had four clubs in his career, but unfortunately for him he never seems to have held down a place and has therefore gone on loan to get games. And from what I've seen of him his lack of gametime isn't particularly due to lack of effort. Certainly not lived up to the early promise but don't think he should be seen as some kind of mercenary.

Anybody would think we still have Morris and Woodrow up front....... He would walk into this squad, no doubt about it

His stats especially last year with Wigan would suggest he needs to drop down to L1 that said wouldn’t be surprised to see him turn up somewhere like Millwall/Preston etc

Big no from me if it wasn’t the fact he started at Man U people wouldn’t hold his name as highly. He’s had a poor career and with the wages he’d demand we can spend the money better elsewhere. 28 career goals over 8 years and 4 goals in the last 5 years.

For some strange reason he'll still appeal to a few Championship sides.
If the terms were right I'd be happy for us to sign him. Has the physical attributes that would be great for us.
Not a snowball's chance in hell it would happen though......
