And this is exactly why the Club try to do things quietly and keep quiet until it's a done deal.

 

They can't keep transfers quiet though. Agents and interested parties will always leak information to satisfy their own ends.

Who have we replaced Anderson and Thomas with? I know Thomas wasn't our player but the squads still weaker.
Luke thomas one of the few forwards we had with pace who could run at a player.. not replaced.

Two keepers brought in. Mccarthy back from injury. Lopata, James and Shepherd brought in at the back. Thomas wasn't our player. Luke Thomas hardly played and wasn't as effective after his injury.

It’s the club media day today so I’m sure some update will come out from the Chron, Radio Sheff, etc.

 

You can only play one keeper. The general feeling is we've replaced the keeper quite well. Time will tell.
Thomas made virtually no contribution last season in reality. He looked OK the early weeks, got injured and that was it.
Anderson I'll grant you. I can't see us replacing him fully this season unless we manage to get in a really good loanee.

 

Wish I shared you positively. Thomas not our player but still a regular last season who needs replacing.

For me Thomas was one of our best players before his injury all opinions though I get that. Would have liked to see us bring in a similar player who can run at a defender we lack that.

 

It’s media day with players all afternoon, with Collins’s first presser at 3.00. Maybe part of the players thing is interviewing one or two new signings? Usually some update tweets from the journos but haven’t been any yet at nearly 2 hours in. Might have been asked not to say anything yet. I’ve no idea, mind, just wondering. Pointless worrying or speculating about anybody anyway until they’ve signed.

Not sure that reply was to me Redrum. I wouldn't say I'm positive. It's been a difficult close season. I think we have successfully brought in a decent chunk of cash which like it or not, is needed.
Andersen and Bobby Thomas are undoubtedly losses who will take a lot of replacement and the manager is untested.
At the minute I'd say we'll do well to finish top six. With one or two good additions at the back and up front we could push for the top four again.
As of now I'd put us anywhere between 1st and 12th for the season.
To suggest we're relegation fodder is just look at me, look at me nonsense (not you by the way).

I think it would probably have happened by now, no point paying over the odds for a player untested in league football.

Just go and get an experienced league centre back, similar experience level to Norwood.

There wouldn't need to be an agreed fee for him. Just a fixed amount of compensation based on his age.

If he goes somewhere else it'll be down to personal terms.
