So the gaffer says he wants to spend more time on the training pitch with his squad and because of this the club and CEO are tin pot and other adjectives you want to throw at them. I'd be more concerned if the coach says I want to cancel the Mansfield game because I 'll get more benefit from my squad on the training pitch and the CEO says no chance you're playing Mansfield.
To quote the coach "I've been here 9 days" If he thinks he'l;l get more benefit on the training pitch thats fine by me.Its his responsibility and his neck at the end of the day.
Very good point B. I would take the coach's point rather than the CEOs. But I do understand revenues for the other clubs have been lost. Admitted very little in Mansfields case. But Guisley more so. It gives em little time, if any, to arrange another team to fulfill the fixture. It doesnt look good if nothing else. I'd be interested to hear what those clubs have to say.
If Collins wants them all on the training pitch for more time there then that’s fair enough for me. Maybe if he’d have been here slightly longer and had more time in training, we would’ve gone ahead with the game.
I think the new head coach should be able to run his pre-season as he sees fit. Its only a shambles when he’s not able to do this.
I thought you've said several times that you don't know what the big news is yet you seem to always talk as though you know exactly what it is.
A good point here that some won't consider. The message is clearly that the decision is Collins' call. It places further doubt on the rumour that the coach doesn't select the team, as if he was told who to play surely he wouldn't be given the power to cancel matches involving those players.
I'd like @Gally to clarify this, as this confuses me too and I don’t want to be out of line. But Gally claimed that we as fans will be happy with the news (and how could that be genuinely claimed unless Gally knows what said news is?), but recently he has backtracked and said he doesn't know what it is. It's a bit like cluedo! Professor Khaled in the boardroom with the cloak and dagger...
For me, the announcement of this big news is the responsibility of Barnsley Football Club and not Gally. This is irrespective of whether Paul know what the news is, or not.
Because it's a load of b******s that's why. I don't need to be a qualified coach to know that a match situation against another team is better than a kick about in training.
Ok we get it, you know what it is...... Everyone else is just stupid for these ridiculous suggestions
Whilst that is true. Why should Gally be privy to this information before any other Barnsley supporter?
