I think in the end, only the latter option would be likely to be a game-changer for us, but it looks extremely unlikely, doesn't it? I naively thought that in 2017 when we were seemingly bought out by wealthy men then at least the 'have to sell' period might have come to an end. After all, Patrick reassured us he would only hand the club on to 'the right people'. Ha! Our player-trading looks very thin once you take out Stones and Mawson. And we initially sold Stones for nowt but got lucky on the sell-on. I do think we'll continue to push away at the top of League One, but we'll always shoot ourselves in the foot when it comes to Championship sustainability. I was hoping for Khaled's "Big News" soon, but I see the 49'ers have bought Leeds instead! :D

Imho you are right orsen...there are people who hate anyone questioning anything the club say or do and those want to vent anger if the club don't tell them everything and anything every 30 mins.
I'm a bit in-between...I accept we are not perfect and it seems we are probably 2 to 3 weeks behind where I would expect us to be. So far, I am concerned at our transfer activity (especially defenders) and hope we can get some decent players in to bed in.
It wouldn't take a lot to make us a real force in this division, I am hopeful our board will do the right thing.

There’s no right or wrong on how u feel towards the club. I’ve personally praised and criticised them both in the past.

On this subject tho based on what we actually “know” there’s nothing of concern. A lot of people choosing to believe hear say and spreading the rumour and not the news. It’s becoming hard work lately going on here to read such nonsense. Nearly every day there’s someone coming on posting something without substance to criticise the club.

I’m not suggesting those ppl could be wrong…..it’s just that they have nothing to back it up.

Personally I’m gonna wait till we are at least a month into the season to see where we are before giving my take.

It’s a suggestion I think most should endear before making accusations or assumptions and turning the fan base not just against the club…..but against each other.

    Becoming a bit silly now.

We signed our best player on a 4 year deal with an option of another year, yeah not convinced by that all I see there is we bumped his inevitable transfer fee up, no bad thing even though it will be undisclosed we always let them go below their value.
We have a manager in who has no management experience in the EFL and would prefer training amongst ourselves jumpers for goalposts than playing already arranged friendliest.
PPL have their season tickets but still await the big exciting announcement that should convince folk to get on board and buy one( I’d already purchased well before that).
The season starts in 15 days and pre season has been a debacle! I wish I had the confidence of some on here, gladly be proven wrong but it seems like blind optimism.

How on earth do you know that we always let people go below their full value? We never disclose the transfer fees. haven't done for many years. So where's your proof that we sell below market value?

Correct but apart from Collins and Stead sounding promising and a decent home shirt everything and I mean everything has been negative since Wembley

It’s blindingly obvious whilst the accuse details remain undisclosed there’s always an element leaked, they should also be detailed in the annual report which is for public access (totals incoming v outgoings) but compare that with say Peterborough to name one who get massive fees ( if reported are true), they got massive fees for Toney and many more.
    Let’s not kid ourselves

Is Connell's new contract negative? The Roberts signing sounds positive to me. Lopata/James may end up being gems. Sounds like we're on the verge of 3 incomings. All sound positive to me

And we start the season with one of the best squads already given how we performed last season, given we still have the vast majority still here

It's not blindingly obvious though is it? If it were you'd be able to advance facts instead of guesswork.
Here's my guesswork. Only a blithering idiot would sell a player for less than they could get for him. Whatever their reason may be for running, owning the club that would be just plain stupid. But you continue to insist we do. Why? Do you think they do it for the laugh?
As for Peterborough's supposed transfer market genius. If they've banked all that money...how come they're still plodding away in League One?

A squad that over achieved and a large chunk of the regular match day squad are not here anymore.

I get that they are concerns but they are not massive for me.

    Positives?

New manager who wants to be here, has plenty of EFL experience as a player and seemed to be well thought of in his previous role.

Signing young players - James could be a real coup.

Despite current issues I think Nareev, Kahled, JAQ etc Al are trying to right the wrongs of the LeeCon era

We have only lost 2 players - half decent keepers are ten a penny in league 1. Anderson is a loss but he gave his all for four seasons and we god a bit of money for him.

I'm not overly trying to have a go at you Fonzie just the general negativity from some fans - which I do empathise with, just don't necessarily think exactly the same!

We still have arguably the best midfield trio in the league in Kane, Connell and Phillips, the 2 wing backs are as good as anything I've seen in this league (granted we may lose Williams but have a replacement seemingly lined up) and I do rate Cole and Norwood at this level. We have some really promising youngsters coming through in the likes of Jalo who I think will have a real impact this season

We've lost Tedic - who missed a decent chunk, Thomas - who missed even more and for me struggled on his return, Watters - who may return, 2 keepers - but brought 2 in - and Mads and Thomas - who I do agree are huge losses but I still think we have plenty to compete. Especially given the perceived lower standard across the board this time around

    I'm quietly optimistic

Again you are speculating just like others which then throws a negative effect on things. You’ve given me nothing more than speculation and your opinion on things which is No different to anyone else.

On Collins…..you’ve already painted a negative opinion because he’s not managed in this league.

Do you know actually how good he is?

Did you expect Duff to do what he did last season after only managing Cheltenham?

Don’t judge a book by its cover….maybe take time to read it before you can throw out judgement.

Again…..please give me facts that this season is gonna be a bad one?

Arguably best in your opinion of course, I have no idea how strong the midfield is in every other team but if Kane is part of ours I don’t see strength, I just see the odd half decent game .

I swe your point and I'm not shouting you down or anything. No issues with the Anderson sale - seems a decent deal for all parties. And the other stuff you mention are definitely plusses - Collins spoke well in his interview.

I guess I just think the negatives outweigh the positive at the minute.

We always get accused of inactivity in the transfer market at this stage yet every season there are at least half a dozen new players in the squad.
I'd be more worried about inactivity if I was a Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United or Rotherham fan.
No major signings who are likely to make an impact for any of them. Can see all three being relegated at this stage (Lol echoing our fans there)
