Nice to read a generally well debated thread. Speaking personally I have no issue at all with 'doom and gloomers' or 'happy clappers' as long as they explain their point of view. We all have different takes on all things BFC. What irks me is the unfounded rumour and speculation which is simply that i.e. not fact but which somehow morphs into fact and is then accepted as such by a lot of people. People who comment on facts and give their opinion I have a lot of time for. People who comment on rumour I also have time for as long as we all know its rumour. As has been said before on this thread, think before you post, accept other peoples' views if they express an opinion but don't get sucked into stupid posts which are based on rumour and speculation unless you understand the context and treat rumour as just that - rumour.
This in spades mate, being an old g1t I remember the days when all you got was the results in the green un at half past five on a Saturday night. The trouble these days every body wants to know everything the day before it happens. I think that the club has played it correctly, don't say owt until there's summat to say. The internet is a wonderfull tool for comunication but it is also a platform for fools and idiots and opposing fans to spread nonsense. In the past there was always some idiot in the pub who talked ***** and people either told him to **** off or just plain ignored him. Today that guy has a platform and all the other pub idiots gravitate towards him and suddenly they're all spouting **** to a wider audience, unfortunately we all get to see them until we realise it's that guy from the pub and block him.
