Frank Worthington failed a couple of medicals at Anfield. Didn't do his career any harm. Frank's was down to high blood pressure.

Did he leave Halifax on his own accord?

That’s some decision in hindsight, if the rumours are true.

Wonder what the issue is - must be something long term if nobody is taking a punt for free.

All I heard was it's a stomach issue. Must be quite bad if it's failing medicals.

So we're not doomed and tinpot because we can't financially compete with Walsall and Lincoln then?

Nixon has tweeted that we’re in a ‘fight’ with Northampton and Notts. County for
His signature? That to me suggests we’re still after him regardless what Doug said last week? If it’s nothing to do with a medical and we can’t compete with the likes of those clubs it’s time to chalk **** on this season now…..

I think you should. Go find something else to do. In fact, everyone who believes our season is defined by what Nixon writes on Twitter should start chalking away and leave in peace those of us who believe our season will be defined by our results over 46 games, none of which we've played yet.

Regardless of the specific ins and outs of this transfer - which we'll never be party to - the fact remains that the defence is decimated from the one which finished the season, we appear to be struggling to get any business done at all and there's less than two weeks to go. I don't think it's unreasonable to be somewhat concerned.

I wonder what Nixon’s strike rate is for his guesses that actuality come good.
I just picture him sat in his bedroom with two tombola drums, one from which he pulls a random players name, and the other, three random teams. Then he publishes this as a ‘rumour’ or fact.
‘Eyes down, look in, your first player….’ :)

    Heres another thought for you.
Maybe, just maybe with players from lower divisions we have a salary that we think they're worth and no more. That's probably a salary at the lower end of our wage structure. Which means that smaller clubs can compete because they're maybe offering a little more than we are prepared to.
That doesn't suit your agenda though. The idea that we're not prepared to overpay if we think there's better value elsewhere.
I'd love to see the steam coming out of people's ears if they found out we were paying 7 grand a week to "non league rubbish".

You'd like to think conceding 14 goals in three pre-season games should be enough to intensify any clubs search for able replacements.

If clubs based their season of their pre season meaningless friendlies there'd be mass panic and itd just be one long transfer window.

For goodness sake , slagging the club again based on a Nixon comment, dont forget that Lincoln, Walsall & us all walked away from striking a deal but hey a Nixon tweet makes you think we should chalk ---- on the season , give it a rest .

If any professional team conceded that many goals in any situation eyebrows should at least be raised.
If you want to carry on with the.. 'move on nothing to see here'.. stance, that's up to you.
But it's glaringly obvious that we are nowhere near ready at the back.
    Defensive signings needed.
