Genuine question; do people think he would be a good signing or not. I haven’t watched him enough to form a solid opinion!
He showed glimpses last season, but only that for me. Tbf he was on and off the bench and he’ll probably feel he didn’t get a proper crack at it. If he scores 15+ I’ll be happy. I don’t think he’s a 20-goal striker though. We’ll see…
He started 1 league game didn't he? I don't think anyone can fairly judge him based on that. He's a proven goalscorer at this level which is what 23 other teams in the league are after.
The biggest thing he offers us is continuity, he already knows his team mates game, knows when and where to run when whoever has the ball and when and where to pass when a team mate makes a move. He probably isn’t 20 goals a season but he’ll hit the ground running immediately.
When he's pictured in front of East Stand holding a red and white scarf or posing in the West Stand upper tier he'll be an excellent signing.
Yes, I think he'll be excellent. IMHO we haven't seen anything like what he's capable of. Lad has pace to burn and can finish. Think he'll be a brilliant signing.
NORWOOD AND WATTERS upfront would be great...Norwood is class...he'd be my captain...he's like a dean windass...very clever, experienced and old fashion striker
Agree on Norwood, great for this league but hasn't quite got the legs for 90 mins at the pace we require. Thus, we need two first choice strikers apart from him. I think Watters would be a great signing, 15 to 20 goals and playing the high press
I'd like to see Norwood coming on with 25/30 minutes to go. His best performance last season, for me, was his sub appearance at Wembley. Think he'd be perfect from bringing on against a tiring defence. He's still got pace and energy, it's just it doesn't last 90 minutes.
Seen him a few times last season. I wouldnt have got him back. Didnt see anything if im honest. Hope im wrong.
Would like to see Watters with a run of games. Someone invested 1 million on him . To come here on a free if we can get him, would be a great effort by the board.
While it's a fairly small sample size, his performance does rank pretty well in terms of forwards at this level. His shot accuracy and mins per goal really stand out amongst both our own team and the rest of the league. Given that he didn't have a consistent run of games, I don't think we can really judge him on last year, but I think there enough in his stats to say there's a player in there. Without wanting to be mean, as others have said, if Cole and Vic can score 15 and 14 goals respectively, I reckon Watters could easily reach 20.
