Just thinking about our striker department at the start of last season compared to now:

    Start Of Last Season

Cole - Low on confidence after a poor season before

Norwood - unfit, would take a few months before we saw the best of him

Aitchison - Would go on to score just 3 for us

Tedic - Called a “Development loan” by Duff, Would go on to score 4
    • None of these 4 had ever played together

    Start Of This Season

    Cole/Norwood/Watters: All confident and fit

Dallas: Scored 20+ for the last 2 seasons in the national league

Shaw: Still an unknown, make or break season for him
    • Cole/Norwood/Watters know each other and their team mates game
    • All 5 strikers belong to us

I don’t know enough about Dallas, I’m only comparing his stats to what Tedic looked like at the start of last season. If I had to choose a 4th choice striker between a development loan who scored 3 the season before at PEC Zwolle or age 23 Dallas who’s scored 20+ 2 seasons running at national league level I’d prefer Dalla’s stats.

I think we are in a far better position upfront this season compared to last, the biggest difference being we have 3 strikers who are already settled and know their team, there’s no waiting for them to click and get up to speed. I haven’t a clue who’ll score the most between Cole/Norwood/Watters, wouldn’t be surprised if all 3 hit 15. And Dallas for me is an upgrade 4th choice striker ahead of Tedic from this time last year.

Midfield looks strong, we have a great keeper in Roberts. Just need to sort out our central defence now

Wouldn`t say this to his face but I was thinking that Nords was looking a bit on the hefty side in the pictures I`ve seen of the friendlies so far.
An element of pot and kettle if you saw me!

It's potentially a better front line. I wonder if Shaw might be loaned out, as Jalo may be a better prospect as 5th choice.

I think we will be under pressure to give Jalo some game time this season for fear of him being picked up by another team/not signing a new contract. Plenty of 18/19 year olds getting a run out in League One.

The good thing is we have 4 strikers who will be wanting to start games and score goals if one is unfit he won't be. Competition is good. Also 4 good midfielders fighting for 3 central midfield positions if styles stays.

Squad is shaping up nicely :) Not sure the those 3 will get 45 goals between them - Woodrow and Moore managed 38 in the Stendel season (46 if you include Jacob Brown). I think we'll get a few from midfield like last season. I like your optimism though!

45 is a little optimistic :D I don’t think any will get to 20 as we tend to sub strikers off with the pressing we do and one will probably fall short of 15, but I wouldn’t be surprised if between the 3 of them it’s near 45 goals.

To counter your claim Moore was injured most of the second half of that season and Woodrow injured for most of the first half, they got 19 goals each in about half/2 thirds of a season. Imagine what could have been if they’d both stayed fit, more than 45 I bet ;)

Is Marsh in the picture now too? A year on, he's now 20 year old.

Good points on subs. And what could've been with Woodrow and Moore.

I'll nail my colours to the mast..

    Devante (15)
    Watters (10)
    Dallas (10)
    Norwood (8)

I would say he needs a loan out to find his feet. He didn't get much game time at scunny before injury. I remember Jacob brown been loaned to Chesterfield and it did him well hopefully same can happen with Marsh and dyer.

You must work in someone's sales department, cos you've really got me nibbling on the hook that leads us to feasting on goals all next season.

    Our goals btw.

I can see Cole getting the most minutes again with Norwood and Watters sharing a bit and then Dallas supplementing them all.

    Cole 16
    Norwood 12
    Watters 12
    Dallas 6

All wild guesses there but I’d be happy with that, as long as the midfield and wing backs pitch in again.
