Can’t imagine why he wouldn’t entertain it, last chance to create a legacy which let’s be honest he’s never going to create here.
Nail on the head. He was a completely different player come the end of the season. I’d be disappointed if he went and think we’d probably struggle to replace him with the start of the season so close. Out of all the strikers we’ve got Norwood is the only one that can do what he does the ugly part of the game that’s important. Take him out of the equation and we’re extremely lightweight up front and easily bullied. Was the best player on the park when he come on in the playoff final.
Yep. Very unlikely that Norwood has made enough money from professional football not to have to work again after he retires from playing. A two year contract on 8k a week would go a very long way towards his retirement fund. Guessing he'll be on half that with us at most.
No idea on contract, but ultimately he could build a profile for himself after football. Big character, do well there and he becomes a household name in US like Mullin is to many now. Plus it'd be a laugh.
He was on 4.5k a week in the conference. I imagine he’s had a pay rise but we could. I mean I was joking about him - we can’t compete with them financially long term. But we can pay him what he had been getting.
I'm just plucking figures out of the sky here, but he's at a point in his career where he really has to be prioritising his financial security over and above anything else.
Norwood would (or at least ought to) play as many minutes as he can manage, so not sure he'd play that much more for them to be honest.
Mullin punctured his lung last night in a friendly so it might push the need for another striker now.
Would be a good move for him, from over that way.. probably more money, deff longer contract We've Just brought in two forwards on long deals so someone has to go really. I thought maybe Shaw, but This move would be a thanks to Norwood for the graft last season. Plus we can't keep bringing players in and not letter some go..
He’s from Essex isn’t he? I’m sure Mullin is one of his best mates too, regularly see them both ripping each other on Twitter. I don’t want him to go but they can blow most sides out of the water these days. Certainly league 1 and 2 clubs.
If Norwood does go and we also move out Isekai wouldn't mind us trying to loan in Boro's Josh Coburn.
TBF to Noz its a nice pay day for him if he retires in maybe 2 or 3 seasons. If a fee is paid for him and he can pick a signing on fee and a 2 year increased contract ,it's a no brainer for him to move on. BFC could make him honour is 12 month deal and make him stay where he is not guaranteed first choice every week. Would that be a good decision to keep someone who as had a better offer in his final days against his choice. Good for both parties if a fee is paid for a player we got on a free and is 32 years old.
We need to keep him, he just the kind of striker we need in the group, he was great last season & if we are to try and go up this season he is a vital part of the jigsaw plus he is loved by the fans
Wednesday had an easy time against our strikers in the first half at Wembley. Norwood came on and caused havoc. That was two months ago. Keep him please.
Agree entirely, but from his point of view, he as to safeguard his future. This would be his last pay day. However I would love to see him part of the jigsaw.
