Watch how Adam rides those tackles/ fouls? & still goes on to score?
Ronnie would fall over, if the wind wasn’t blowing in his favour. Tell me I’m wrong & I’l transfer you to Sheffield Wednesday.. ;)

Hammill wasn’t even in the top 3 best players in the 2016 promotion season!

Saw him score a perfect hat trick against Grimsby - left, right, header. Reight player. Redfern best player overall for me, consistently brilliant for us over a number of seasons, free kicks, headers, blasts from everywhere. Midfield engine, ran through brick walls, never say die, total professional.

I was born in 1985. First game was the 94/95 season but I'd seen us lose to Newcastle, beat Sunderland and lose 1-3 to Grimsby on soccer Sunday live.
Hazy memory but Payton was my first Barnsley hero.

Adam Hammill was a exceptional player for and is well loved by all but BFC older fans generally don't give him as much credit as I think he deserves, I was young when Glavin played, I'm 52 so I don't remember Glavin with the same affection as I hold for Hammill, we will never see the likes of Hammill and what he did for our club again.

Glavin kept us up in 1980, got us up in 1981, nearly got us up and nearly got us to Wembley in 1982. Scored winners at Swillsboro, Milmoor and Brammal Lane, and White Hart Lane.

King Ronnie, he was definitely the best I've seen in a Reds shirt in my humble opinion.

imagine how good Ronnie would have been if he had not been a stone overweight, remember at Swillsboro , he had been injured and started to warm up as sub, the cheering from the away end , gave you Goosebumps, only comes and scores blummin winner, if he was one on one with the keeper, he never missed, it was Ronnie, he just fecking scored , he was and always will be a legend

getting emotional just thinking about those times, a joy to behold

I’ve only been watching since the early to mid nineties and I absolutely loved watching Hammill.

But he’s not in the top five players I’ve seen here. He wasn’t even the best player in the team, at least in his second spell. He always had you on the end of your seat hoping for the spectacular and sometimes provided it, but there were games he was completely anonymous too.

Ranks behind Redfearn, Hignett, Hourihane, Barnard, Howard, Ward, Dyer for me. I have him in the next tier down along with Winnall, Butterfield, Watson, Taggart, De Zeeuw, Steele, Woodrow

Didn't see Glavin play and his record speaks for itself, but Redfearn can't be far behind, if only for his leadership and ability to drag the entire team back into a match on his own. No Redfearn, no Premiership.
