    Played 37 games for a side that finished 4th in the Conference. I can’t imagine he’s one for the under-21s, if it’s true.

    Me neither mate, I've never heard of him. I'm just making a snap judgement based on an unsubstantiated rumour, which probably isn't true, like everyone else in the thread.

    Every signing is a gamble look at litany treacy turnbull matt mills etc. There's loads in league one and the championship who have come from non league.

    Well if JW is being sold then maybe. If not we’ll have 4, which seems a bit excessive. More right backs than fit centre halves at the moment.

    Same ‘source’ had him nailed on to sign for Crawley not so long back. Don’t know much about the player but I’m not sure he’s someone we need if it’s a first team player we’re looking for.

    Are you actually being serious? Genuinely, no way to tell.

    They had to pump millions in last season just to stay afloat. They aren’t going to continue to do so long term - and you are not permitted to just overspend over and above what the club generates anyway.

    We are also facing a potentially large fine, possibly (although I’d hope unlikely) a points deduction which would make promotion exceptionally difficult anyway, and two of our owners have personal charges against them which might mean the rest of the owners may be forced to dip their hands in their pockets to buy them out.

    I’m actually pleasantly surprised with what we’ve signed and not had to sell so far if anything.

    Oh and just to correct you, Corey O’Keeffe has just played a full season in league one and looked decent at the level too.

    Also, the fact a player has been signed from a lower level doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t league one standard either.

    Put their money where there mouth is. It wasn't the Play-Offs that prompted my Barnsley FC renaissance. @Archerfield posted about the finances. It showed they weren't pi sin up my back hence my return.

    It's a shame about the railstrike because I really want to bring George to the open day.

    It's actually reported in the Chronicle as well:

    "They are thought to be interested in Kyran Lofthouse who played for Woking in the National League last season and is now a free agent. But he is known as a right-back."

    Also says:

    "They are understood to be in the advanced stages of a deal with a central defender, with the hope of making a signing within the next week."
