I heard the new ref approach for the new season is to award us a few more penalties than usual.

Will they stop the 30/60 secs goal celebration and I do know we are some of the worst culprits

Depends, if we're winning, they'll ad on 15 mins, if we're losing they'll add on 1 min.

Isn't this basically just applying the rules that already exists?

I applaud the FA for issuing this guidance to referees, especially in relation to treatment of players. If all of the things included in this communication are implemented, it will make the game much more watchable.

As others have said, consistency is the key. We've seen many new initiatives from the FA fall by the wayside by September of a new season, so I hope they follow through.

One thing I notice though, is that it sounds like it's very much on the ref to implement these things. I personally think it would be much better if the 4th official were responsible for timekeeping and just advised the ref on how much stoppage time to add. Same with issuing cautions for deliberate acts of timewasting - the 4th official is better placed to observe these than the ref. I believe they're mic'd up anyway, so no reason the 4th official can't take responsibility for these elements and call them out when needed.

I'll tell our lass to expect me home closer to 7 than 6 next Setdi!
