    Welcome Kyran and good luck.

Anyone else think Cotter could be on his way out? O’Keeffe, Lofthouse and Cotter would seem a bit much. Especially if Williams is still here. Although I think if Williams does stay we could see him at right centre back again.

Can we not just have one signing where there's just good will? :D

Our squad is basically complete. We need a centre back, that's the important thing. The rest are good enough and so we're just filling in the squad. All transfers are punts. As for not spending a lot, when have we ever? You know for a fact the board put in over 6 million quid last season so I think it's fairly obvious we're skint.

Welcome aboard Kyran & good luck - wonder if he'll be as good as his namesake, Nat? :D

And that is at national level, would guess he might go out on loan as he is obviously nowhere near this level...... Yet

Don’t care where he’s from. It does seems a bit of a strange one though. Don’t we have 4 right backs now? And we don’t play with wingers.

Does all the money have to be spent in this transfer window, mate?

You're basing that of one opinion from one fan on the internet? There were Halifax fans saying Marc Roberts wouldn't make it for us, and he turned out abit alright. Why don't we just give the guy a chance first or see what Collins will do with him before saying he's obviously nowhere near this level? We might play a completely different system/tactics and he'll fit in perfect.

Every signing last season got slagged off too because they were all frees, and they were brill.

So this is not giving him a chance and slagging him off?

As covered many times before incoming transfer money won’t all be spent on the purchase of a new player - a large proportion of it will need to be spent on that new players wages.
If we spent £2m on a player we wouldn’t be able to afford the wages.
That’s why we sign players that we hope will fit the bill - and I’m happy with that.

Never in a million years would i want us to spend that kind of money on any player while we’re in this league ultimately we have to spend the money wisely and make sure the club is on a sure footing my only gripe is that we’ve had all summer knowing we needed at least one experienced central defender who’s good to go at league one level but here we are a week from the start of the season and nothing yet. Hopefully this foreign guy can do the business but remember it took Mads and Helik a fair bit of time before they got to grips with football over here.

Ethan Pinnock had played one season as high as national league level when he signed for us, he was down in the depths of the Isthmian league with Dulwich before that.

Marc Roberts had played at an even lower level before two years with Halifax in the conference saw him join us.

Stumpy Sheridan was signed from the northern premier league.

Angus MacDonald was signed from non-league, having had three years in the conference at Salisbury and Torquay and had only 21 league appearances at league two level before that.

    All very successful.

We have also signed players from league two level and put them straight in at championship level with success.

I could name dozens of players signed from premier league, championship and league one clubs who have been absolute tripe.

Give the lad a bloody chance. Where he’s come from isn’t that relevant.

What they said was that all transfer funds would be used on replacements, paying wages and running costs, not that it would all go on transfer fees.
