Anyone know where in Barnsley you could buy a OS map of Scarborough?

On the last one select Menu, GPS mapping. I think you have to register to get OS tiles but it's better resolution than the hug one.

When I had a look around the library in the Glassworks they had loads and loads of OS maps. Don’t know where of or how up to date they are but you could ask or check their online catalogue?

My first thought was the library but not sure if you can borrow them? Not sure what I've done with my library card either!

Just checked and it says they have multiple ‘available to loan’. They are from 2005/2006 though!

I'm not sure that many shops sell them any more. Maybe somewhere like Go Outdoors might. I think you can order them online from Ordnance Survey or you can get them on your phone for a subscription.

Alternatively, you can see them for free at the following websites; http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php (toggle map size to see OS map larger), and http://www.streetmap.co.uk/. Both go down to Landranger (1:50000). BikeHike is easier to use but Streetmap are bigger - neither are very good on smaller devices but ok on a laptop.

Also bing maps on a laptop and select OS maps. Think they inherited the licence from multimap

The footpath map is the same as this one. Once you are in the map you can turn the layers on and off to display the information you want. It’s the same as the footpath one with the path data turned off. The best thing is the scaleable nature of the map where you can zoom in from the 1:50000 route maps right through to maps that show individual buildings and street numbers.

Due to the detail and size of screen needed the maps don’t work well on mobile phone browsers but are ok on desktops or tablets.

I'd have given him mine, but I need it later in the week for a spot of rambling around Whitby - can't wait.:D:D:D

Barnsley library should have OS explorer 301. I borrow maps all the time.
