Didnt look at the West Stand. Has it been like that a long time or could it be that its being replaced?
And the weather boards on the East turnstiles have been done. On another note the rubbish this morning is disgusting
Just got to work on the customer service experience like getting kit and training gear out way earlier, giving customers in the stadium the option of paying cash or card, sorting the option of booking catering to pick up when you want to stop queuing etc.
Agree it looked like new yesterday, red everywhere. must have took ages for them to do it all. Nice to see the place being looked after
We take cash or card on the Trust van in the Fan Zone. The move towards card post covid has been remarkable. Hardly anyone pays cash anymore and it used to be the other way around. Given the additional hassle, risk of theft etc, decline in high street banks, I can understand why businesses are moving to card only. The club shop is effectively outsourced now so the club wont have any input on card only either.
Thing is gally they SHOULD have input on that. When the contracts were signed then ensuring a certain level of customer service should have been included and that should have included accepting cash. We've seen similar issues for 20 years with the kiosks and for years previous CEOs told us there was nothing they could do about them running out, being closed, having no staff etc as the contract contained no minimum service level clauses. It's basic stuff that the club seem to get wrong year after year no matter who's in charge and I don't understand it. There must be a constant but it's not the owners.
Disagree on cash payments. In the modern world, anyone can get a card and need one to interact with modern online shopping etc. The other stuff about service level I’d agree with.
People CAN but a lot don't WANT to. People can all wear a suit and tie before being allowed into Oakwell but it would be a stupid rule to enforce. Cashless society is so dangerous for abuse victims by the way. My dad always pays cash. Always. He's of that generation where he doesn't really trust cards. I have a problem where my bank card stops working fairly regularly, not sure why. They've replaced it about 5 times since COVID and it lasts a few months or it's intermittent. For that reason I always keep money on me and if I use the self serve tills I always make sure it's cash and card, not just card. Kids get cash for birthdays and Christmas. Cash they want to spend at somewhere like a football club. Domestic abuse victims are tracked by card payments so prefer cash. Cash isn't as easy for everyone just because it is for the majority and it's crazy to get rid of it what is essentially a souvenir shop especially but more than that it's poor to sign a contract and then say you can't control what they do because you could if you'd been proactive.
