Massively underachieved that first full season on Wilson's return. Cryne backed him with more or less an open cheque book by League 1 standards and we signed players that should have done a hell of lot better.
Lita was a disgrace when she cheated on Matt Hardy, with Edge!! (in the Wwf). But she would have still done a better job for Wilson, than what Mr Leroy did.
I would have him down as our worst ever signing based on expectations and the money he was supposedly on
All the experienced players Wilson wanted turned out flops litany treacy turnbull jennings already here but *****. I remember that opening game v Crawley we bearly had a shot on goal and lost 1 nil I though **** me it's going to be a long season.
He still looks quite well to be fair to him for 38 he's aged well. On a football perspective yeah he was past it with us although I couldn't tell if he just couldn't be arsed he was only late 20 when he was with us.
This thread suggests that signing young talent from lower leagues is not necessarily such a bad idea....
I thought Ross Turnbull was a decent keeper for us, remember him saving a penalty. Won a Champions League medal as well..
A point that has been made numerous times on other threads… we’ve signed experienced ‘names’ on plenty of occasions and the success rate is markedly lower than the successes we’ve had from players from lower leagues. Two pints was exceptionally poor though, it has to be said.
He was the 1st time round when he came back after winning the champions league he was on a downwards spiral and his back was ****** bad signing.
Every signing is a gamble look at Bristol rovers team from last season loads of experience in it marquis, Scott sinclair... did Jack ****
