The John Daykin mentioned in the video was a policeman in Barnsley, and lived on Blenheim Grove (off Blenheim Road). On his stag night (before his marriage to his first wife) his colleagues left him at the end of the Grove in a very inebriated state. My brother in law (who also lived on Blenheim Grove) and I, found him and carried him to his mother’s house. She opened the door, took one look at him, and slapped me!!!

John's Mum Gladys used to work for my Grandfather. She was a lovely lady. John is coaching football (soccer!) in California still, I believe.

John and his first wife (Kay) bought the house on Blenheim Grove two doors down from his mother’s. We bought my sister’s house and lived opposite them. The marriage didn’t last long and we were the recipients of most of their wedding presents. Still using the Pyrex :)
