Two families have sadly lost love ones and would like fans to remember them with a minutes applause. (Image courtesy of Eyup and Down)
Unpopular opinion but I think the combined memorial at the end of the season is the best way to acknowledge those supporters who have passed, as opposed to sporadic acts of applause.
One of my mate's daughters from Greasbrough has just had her first child and found out she had a brain tumour. They've managed to remove 95 per cent of it but the crucial 5 per cent they can't so all they can do is keep is her alive a bit longer. Tragic.
Heartbreaking news for me. Roland (Sid) & I became best friends in the Summer of 1967, just before we started school together at Green Road School, Dodworth, in the September. For years after, every spare minute we'd be either playing football, or walking our dogs. Sadly, we lost touch about thirty years ago. I'm devastated at this news. R.I.P. Roland Love Kev.
It’s a topic that crops up on one of our WhatsApp groups, few seem to moan about it, personally my view is that if me giving up 60 seconds to applaud someone’s life for grieving relatives makes them feel better then it’s least I could do…….all opinions a suppose
Do they read out the names? I haven't been since they started this but think it would be fitting if they did.
Jesus h christ ,I didn't realise that kev till you posted that, I went to school with his sister, I remember him now a little bit older than me . Nice lad. So so sad at a young age.
