They were awful but not surprised.

The booking of Roberts for timewasting when we were 6-0 up simply shows that they either don’t understand the game or have no common sense.

The laws have changed this season. There'll be a huge upswing in injury time and bookings such as this. Its rhubarb, but the refs are only doing what they're told.

Or Roberts is to blame? Refs are simply following new regulations to get the game flowing much more. He had plenty of time to get shut of the ball and he won't do it again, lesson learned and he won't be the last keeper booked for that this season.

Not the new rule interpretations then.

Why not book the port vale lad who took an eternity with that corner in the last few minutes

Agree they are only doing what told to .....would like to bet that this added time gets toned down sooner rather than later though.....some of it just plain daft mate

Eight yellows in total, six for us and two for them, in what was by no means a dirty match.

I’m not against the rule change but possibly an argument for 40 minute halves?!

Disagree because they didn't book the port vale player for blatant time wasting near the end but booked our keeper without even giving any indication he was going to

It'll be interesting to see if it softens over the next few months. That extra time was pointless today. 7-0 and he's given 10 extra mins.

Had a dump around the 90th minute so missed that.

    Haven't a clue then.

They had a corner and there player was so scared that we might score 8 that he was slowly strolling across the pitch whilst the entire stadium booed him. not a Peep from the referee though what I thought he was very inconsistent in general. He booked one of our players early for not retreating 10 yards but a vale player stopped us taking a free kick near the end and didn't get spoke to. The rule changes are **** but if the refs do enforce them they have to do them fairly and evenly and he did t do that today imo

I know that but their keeper took longer at the start of the game than Roberts did at that point. Just no consistency, which isn’t at all surprising.

Can you imagine if we still had Brad Collins? He’d be getting 20 cards a season!

I’m still choosing to blame the ref because there’s no consistency with it. Their keeper took longer in the first half and got nothing. Barry Cotter got wiped out and there was no punishment. Yet we somehow ended up with what 6 or 7 yellows for a side that won 7-0. Hmm.

Hate these new rules already absolutely no common sense being used by refs and players are going to be suspended for doing next to nothing.

Are they though? by that I mean they are not told to be inconsistent, Styles booking for was very harsh as he was about 7 yards away from the ball and hardly prevented them from taking a quick free kick, yet we saw there player’s at best slowly retreating back on our free kicks. It’s just another ruling for ref’s to infuriate fans with.

The demise and killing of the game continues, bookings are a joke. Not blaming refs it’s the knobheads who are changing the rules.
