Those balls played over to Cadden from Shepherd worked nearly every time. Caused em some real problems.

His passing looked superb. Clearly a good game to come into but when you think about the level he’s come from, he was very impressive.

Looks to have a cultured left foot!

He has a fantastic eye for a pass. A couple of those balls were superb for dallas and Shaw to run onto. Really impressed with the new lads. And shaw

I know it’s early days but you have to admit Barnsley are pretty good at picking up these unknown players and making money out of em I think they have hit the jackpot again.

I was thinking he might be the first player to come from that level until I remembered Mick Butler from Worsbrough Bridge.
Are there any others that came from so low down the football pyramid.?

Northern Premier League Division 1 East. 7th or 8th tier apparently.

Sounds like he impressed, especially considering the step up. Used to play for Penistone Church apparently.

We signed Mick McCarthy from The Briggers as well.

Thought Shepherd did great when he came on. Tougher tests to come of course but looked good on and off the ball.

I thought he was excellent. Composed and good distribution. If you are going to blood a fringe player. (If he indeed is) that was the right time.

I was told when he signed that he was for the first team and not the academy as many thought.

Outstanding for a debut. Normally if you sign someone from that level you expect them to be physically strong & to get stuck in but it was his passing that stood out. Don’t think he misplaced a pass & he went forward every time
