Glad we've got a cup game after that. The lads will be buzzing and it's nice to play a game to help develope the no fear football further. Today's performance showed real b ollox. They didn't have it all their own way and earned the right to play.

The positive for me was everything really, but the realisation the the fantastic midfield of Styles, Russell* and Kane could easily all be rested for a game and replaced by Phillips, Connell and Benson.
Sooooo many options and the likes of Chapman, Wolfe etc too.

    * Pants first half, Championship quality second

Glad you posted that. Saved me making a separate thread about Russell. Put in a real shift mate. I jumped on band wagon without actually seeing him play. Just shows value of thi own eyes.

I hope there were no scouts here today, thought Kane in that second half was unplayable, and still chasing down the keeper on 95 minutes. Reminded me of Mowatt under Val.

Actually, yes, that was my favourite bit! Who was it who shepherded it over the line?

Well put. I like you got a bit deflated with recent events at the club and shared my disappointment on here. but nothing beats the buzz of the game especially after a few beers. still not enamoured with the board but after 53 years of following tarn will only ever want the best for the Reds and us supporters....

Does Phillips's game count towards his suspension on Tuesday?

Amongst other things, what impresses me most is the constant determination to kill off the opposition. It sounds like we never stopped going for it in that second half, even when we'd easily won the game.
How many times do we see a 3 or 4 goal win, but are thinking that should have been 7 or 8!. ;)

Pleased about that. He comes across as a warm person. It reminded me of the Di Canio incident where he caught the ball. I hope the wider footballing world see that. Very selfless.

I don’t think Russell was pants first half.

He quietly did his job, saved us on a few occasions in the first half and came to life in the second.

Everything was half hearted. Shirked tackles, rushed passes. Improved towards HT. Immense second half.

    My opinion

    They were and looked grand

Actually may as well do all the positives.
    The performance. Obviously
The fanzone looked cracking and far better than Previously.
Paintwork around the stadium looked great.
New signage above turnstiles made us look modern and professional.
The new signage on the food kiosks looked amazing
The queues for drinks LOOKED shorter. Not sure though but if so it sounds like a promising start for the new pint thing

Well, we're on holiday and my 11 year old has been celebrating with Slavia Prague fans who lit up red flares after l showed them the score on BBC website. They were explaining to him that they do this every week at their games, l told him they've all got asthma at Oakwell were not allowed to do it, they have to twirl rattles.

I have been critical of Kane in the past, but he put in some excellent performances towards the end of last season and today, particularly in the second half, he was that good he looked Premier League class and even reminded me of Luca Modric.
