Last time I can remember Barnsley scoring 7 goals was against Huddersfield in 1998 unless I've missed anything.

When was the last 7-0 win and when was the last time we scored 8?

Huddersfield was the last time we scored 7. I think the last time we got 8 was January 1928 Reds 8 Fulham 4. But we actually got 9 after that v Accrington Stanley 9-0 in February 1934, equalling our biggest ever win v Loughborough in our first season in the Football League 1898/99.

As mentioned in another thread I saw the Huddersfield 7-1 and a 7-3 against Bristol City in 1961 or 62. But today was my first 7-0 in 62 years.

It was apparently the biggest opening day victory margin for any football league game since 1962.

    Not bad that.

My Dad told me he was 6. He can't remember the opponent though.

Last 7-0 win was against QPR in 1950. Tommy Taylor got a hat trick

We rarely beat them though, which is why I'm more surprised at the result.
Was anybody on here, there on boxing day '78, when we apparently hit them for six. That was before my time as a fan.

In my lifetime I can remember a 7-1 win at Workington in the mid 70s and a 7-1 win over Huddersfield in 1998.
Definitely the biggest win I’ve seen.

I was there on boxing day against them, but that was in '91 lol, an awful 0-0.
Its easy to forget Clarkie was still player manager in those days, but I think he hung up the boots though the following season. And when we beat Port Vale, it usually leads to promotion, weird in it!.
