It's 1 game. Why are you suggesting humble pie?! Maybe after 10 games if we're top of the table and looking the real deal then fair enough. We were great today but give it the next few games.

Hang on, just so I'm clear on the rules, we're allowed to be excessively negative before a ball has been kicked, but we can't be positive until 10 games have past? Got it, thanks.

No because after 10 games you can start being concerned about the fact we will be selling our best players in January

You're allowed to shout it from the rooftops that the club's gone after we lose a pre season friendly heavily on a training pitch.

Opening day results are rarely an indicator of how the rest of the season will go. It was a great start, but there 45 more games to go and the squad is still weaker than the one we had at Wembley. Let’s see how things look when the transfer window closes.

Exactly. What we all need is a little patience and perspective.

A great result yesterday no doubt.
But we must keep our feet firmly on the ground, let’s be honest it was a freak result in terms of the score line, & it seems they still created a few good chances, so the result probably says more about Port Vale than it does about us.

We still need to sort the striker problem out, we still need one ideally two in, on the basis we manage to offload Iseka. The young uns probably could do with loans, Marsh, Dyer, Jalo etc.

The defence is probably covered unless Kitching leaves? Have we got cover for Cadden down that left side?

It’ll be interesting to see how we fare against the sides tipped to be in the top of half of the table.

Whereas pre-season friendlies against Leeds on a training pitch with no fans are the pinnacle of football and if we lose heavily we might as well just pack it all up.

Under stendel smashed Oxford 4 nil... promoted

Under flicker got hammered by Wigan 4 nil... relegated

I'd say the defence is weaker not any other position. Roberts looks good although not our player and we lost a striker who scored 11 goals in 45 games in a team who finished 4th, dallas and Shaw looked good and dallas got a debut goal.

Try my best not to get too high when things go well and Visa versa . Yesterday was great but its just one game and if we get beat next week it won't be the end of the world find it's the best way for me.

You are right about keeping our feet on the ground but I dont agree they still created a few good chances, They created one when Roberts pulled off a good save from a header in the first half. The rest were nothing more than half chances at best. The 3 other "Saves" were tame long range efforts that barely warranted counting as a shot on target.
I don't think we need 2 new strikers both Shaw and Dallas looked OK when they came on. If we can offload Iseka maybe one more would be nice but to be talking about a striker problem when we just scored 7, 4 from our strikers, seems a bit wierd.

We are a bit light in terms of cover for Cadden but Williams can play there if needed, and so can Styles if he stays but its shame we didnt keep Larkesche

As of now, realistically we need one striker, if we manage to offload Iseka then two strikers required.
Dallas & Shaw I see as fringe players, Watters & Cole main strikers but we need at least one to push them, ideally a a young premier league loanee. And as I said, send the young uns out on loan.
