Didn’t go in the fanzone yesterday due to 80% chance of rain forecast on BBC. Glorious sunshine and too many layers of clothing. Today, I’m in Manchester to watch my daughter. Forecast was dry with possible light showers. I’ve just got to the shelter of a pub from what can only be described as a Monsoon! Soaked to the skin, with a tram and train to catch.
There are a myriad of weather apps that we can reference these days but the general standard of forecasting is so bad they are as good as worthless. I went to bed recently on a Saturday thinking there was no point making plans to go off on Sunday because the forecast showed rain all morning. Only to then get up in the morning and the same app showed it to be clear. If, with all the tech we have these days, they cannot forecast at 11pm whether it will be raining the following morning, then they may as well chalk **** on it and pack in. Might as well just rely on sticking your head out of the window.
