I may need some advice here but if these young males are being persecuted in their own country where are all the women and children ?

Says on web only single adult men will be on the Bibby, so no family’s at least, very contentious issue ,sure all those men will have their own story to tell

Isn't it the case that once a member of a family is granted asylum the rest can follow in a safe way? Therefore it makes sense to only send one member of the family on a treacherous crossing, have them apply and if successful the rest of the family can safely follow.

On ITV news it said that they were free to come and go from the barge, as they would from a hotel.

No but they haven’t paid a bean in taxes to this country but get preferential treatment at the taxpayers expense

Locals hired a mini bus to take them on a local tour. They’re going to need some meaningful way off passing time, rather than sit in that fcking crate all day.. :)

Heaven forbid we show basic compassion. If you're that bothered about the tax expense we should just stick a few % of tax on earnings above £1m.

The journey from their home country to the UK is dangerous - even more so for women and children. Most (~90%) of refugees stay in the nearest country, so the likes of Pakistan, Uganda, Colombia, Lebanon, Poland and Turkey are hosting millions of displaced refugees. Of the rest, around 600,000 make it to Europe every year - who are mostly those who are young enough and strong enough for the journey (which is typically younger men and boys). We get around 10% of them - or about 60,000 per year (some years are more than others).

In many of the countries that they are fleeing, anyone remotely accused of being LGBTQ+ is at risk of imprisonment or death too - which includes countries like Nigeria, and other parts of Africa that aren't at war.

The government will be hoping it’s well named and the people in there develop the syndrome and end up voting for them

Not sure its correct but the ones refusing to leave their hotels to go on this boat are those who have a fear of water according to some reports.

The worst of people live their lives being the worst of people. know exactly what you mean that threads like this gives them a platform to tell us all.

It really saddens me that they live with these attitudes and believe this rubbish every day.

Fear of water didn’t affect them when in the dinghy in middle of the channel

There's been literally BILLIONS of pounds of public money embezzled by this government on dodgy PPE contracts, wasted on the likes of HS2 or used to give peerages to admin staff that Boris Johnson shagged/sired and Vote Leave leaders responsible for ruining the economy and Britain's reduced influence on the world stage.

But no, let's punch down at desperate people seeking a better life and currently being kept on a floating prison.

People like the OP are the exact reason the Tories are allowed to get away with shafting the country. This image sums it up far better than I ever could
