You should be ashamed of yourself, honestly. Nothing more to say to you or your similarly leaning pals.
What would you do in their circumstance;Try to better things for you and your family, or remain and be oppressed / in fear for your life?
I think if I'd risked my life seeking refuge in dodgy little boats that had every chance of sinking and drowning me I'd be f****ing scared of water too.
You don't think it's reasonable to want to claim asylum in a country where you have existing family or speak the language?
You mean as most of them do. I'd also be interested, if the roles were reversed, and you were fleeing for your life whether you'd stop in Albania where you haven't the first clue about the language or if you'd push on to Australia where you did. My guess is the latter. That's the thing about little Englanders, they all want things to be one way. Map of the world coloured mostly red, Spitfires and tea parties and lots of darkies overseas in the Empire to flog our stuff to but god forbid they should want a share of the pie for themselves. Let them stay where they are and die eh? And if you think all that's a bit harsh and doesn't apply to you then stop posting s**t that suggests it does.
Maybe they could. But I suspect that if they felt they could have, they wouldn't have risked their lives to come here. As others have pointed out, a lot of them will have family here or they'll be able to speak English better than other European languages. Furthermore, France and Germany (for example) take in many more refugees per head than us. It's ultimately an irrelevant question because no-one is required to seek asylum in the first "safe country", although many more do than don't.
It was home from home, you just make the best of what youve got, A cookhouse, gymnasiums, cinema, friends an a game of RISK, what more could you want
Pinning the blame for life’s woes on the wrong people. Follow the money, not where the money is telling you to look.
Bibby Stockholm is an awful, unhygienic, not fit for purpose floating shack that should be torn down rather than used to house human beings. I know this because I stayed on it for 3 years up in Shetlands while working on the construction of the new gas plant up there. Conditions were that poor and cramped even to two in a room that we went on strike for better living conditions and got what we wanted, one per room and better amenities. Those amenities are gone, all ripped out and now they're talking about 3 to a room to fit more on. An absolute disgrace and a beacon to our awful inhumane government.
