Don't tut, shake your head and sigh on this forum. I'm deeply upset that you may be sighing in my direction .
LK3 and Red Army The problem I have with reporting a post is that the little red box to note my reason is so dark it's impossible to type in it or to even know if I've typed something. (this may be due to ancient laptop or my short-sightedness!)
@red-Taff I will warn the poster. It seems like an off-the-cuff comment about a footballer who's attacked a 60 year old woman and caused multiple fractures. It's ill-advised, but not sure what else you want me to do on this. I don't think Marcus Maddison is going to get too upset though?
The poster was saying the footballer who punched a 60 year old woman in the face should have it instead. It’s still not nice to wish it on anyone but it wasn’t aimed at a BBS poster and he was saying he wishes he could take it away from the person who has it (and give it him instead), rather than just hoping the puncher would get it in addition.
Red taff clearly wasn’t referring to me, subsequent comments I suspect were though - and I wasn’t responding just for myself. But no, you are right Redarmy87, that thread was clearly not Red Taff’s source material, much as it was for some initial responses. I don’t think there’s much wrong with quoting who liked the post he mentioned though as I suspect they might not have known exactly what they were ‘liking’ or maybe that they’d even done it. It gives a retrospective option to withdraw the ‘like’ if they choose to.
I still like posts even if they're the opposite of what I think or agree with as long as I can see the argument or humour etc. Even the sheer audacity of it.
Agree I liked a ton of posts when we had the Clapper v Tinpot debate the other week. Sometimes it can be a joy to read a post on here that puts me back in my box with a well constructed argument that shats on everything I wrote!
If you haven't seen it before I can recommend the Rob Burrow documentary, Living with MND, on BBC I player, but be warned it's extremely emotional watching. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001d9r8
What we have to bear in mind is that some of the Tory and right-leaning community on this board are hurting at the moment and will grasp at anything to try and strengthen their stance, much like this Govt really
Perhaps if a few posters stop looking for things to take outrage at, when blaming the countries ills on folk fleeing persecution is ok, but being called out on being a racist hurts their delicate feelings. Or, perhaps grown men who I suspect are, as I am, over 50, should stop acting like a Snapchat generation 14 year old girl.
I took it to be the other Marcus as in Marcus Maddison, that thread rather than any other posters on the board. And actually I don't really wish he'd get it either, it just seems to be that the good ones seem to have this happen to them amd i was more agreeing with the sentiment.
Wouldn't hurt him to know how despicable most people find his actions to be. Sounds like he got away with a fair bit in his time as a professional footballer, hopefully a spell in prison makes him realise he needs to change.
If your referring to me I said nothing on the thread which was racist. If I did I would have been banned and rightly so. Questioning something doesnt make you racist. Funny one of the people calling others bigots in that thread didn't know why singing **** the pope could cause offence the irony.
