People not accepting they might be wrong, as though being wrong is such a horrendous thing :D

Can someone please try to explain to me why anyone who has an IQ larger than their shoe size would prefer to sit in a 2 mile queue than a 1 mile queue? Like seriously what is the benefit?

Because we as Brits like a good queue and don't like feeling like we are pushing in (when in reality we aren't).

Well if you’re putting the same amount of cars through the same gap…. The queue will be the same length. Whether it’s 2 1 mile ones, or 1 2 mile queue. As the current system doesn’t work. It results in an unfair flow through the single lane. I mean if it’s about IQ, you’ve proved the opposite point perfectly.

There’s two places on my commute home that get blocked by people choosing to do the 2 mile queue option rather than the two 1 mile queues. It can add up to 40 minutes on my journey having to sit in the massive queue that wouldn’t have any impact on me if people just used both lanes as intended.

Conversely, on my journey to pick up the pup every afternoon, there’s three places on the outer ring road in Leeds where two lanes merge into one and it’s a joy to watch. Every car seamlessly merges one for one every day at each spot and it works perfectly. The only time it didn’t was when there was a diversion in place and people who don’t normally travel that way were trying to block people and nearly caused accidents by purposefully speeding up at the last moment to block people from joining.

You haven't given a benefit yet. A 1 mile queue has a lot of benefits over a 2 mile queue. What is the benefit of your single lane system?

Everytime I google 'how to place a circumflex' predictive text takes over and I'm directed to 'how to get circumcised.'...........job can be done for £200 !

Also I don't have Word which may be a problem -
Also it seems Cymraeg is one of the few languages where a ^ can pe placed above a 'y' (and a 'w') so the facility to do that isn't readily available.
Apologies for being a bit of a knob !

If using a phone (iPhone anyway) long press on the letter y and the option for ŷ comes up.
