Sorry. Harry. £100m for a 30 year old is bonkers when you already win the league every season anyway and he ain't gonna win the CL on his own.
I'm no fan of Daniel Levy but how he's managed to get that sort of fee for a 30 year old with less than 12 months on his contract I'll never know. Hats off.
Without out him Spuds have little chance of qualifying for Champions League any time soon, so they'll soon be out of pocket....
I could imagine Man U or Chelsea maybe paying £60m but you’re right it seems bonkers. It’s such a shame that he’s leaving the Premier as we have been graced with him and Haaland and those two are proper goal scorers …..not as flashy as Messi and Ronaldo but so so precise and simple in their finishing. He also seems a nice guy so, who knows, he may be back at Tottenham in 3 yrs or so
To be fair the likes of Man Utd would pay that if they thought he’d win the league that automatically pushes prices up for others.
According to The Independent, its a package potentially rising to £120m with add-ons, with £105m guaranteed, and £86m up front.
Think it'll be good for England for him to experience champions league football etc. Better for Spurs yo have the money, they wont win anything this season with or without him! Chalk and cheese his and Mads farewell video to the fans!
True … the Brazilian you mean.? He seems to be all over the pitch to me but he is classed as “defensive”
Auf Wiederkane. I would have stayed put. He's going to win a league but it's pretty meaningless when you're expected to every season and have no competition. He could have stayed put and then next summer have his pick of clubs at home, be about 15-20 off the Shearer scoring record and get a fat signing on fee to go on and break it.
He is the best striker in the world tbf. I know Haaland has had a ridiculous season but Kane has done it season after season in a poor side. Good luck to him, I hope they go and win the champions league next season. What a player, deserves nothing but success. Not bad for a one season wonder.
Disagree. When he looks back on his career, he could be the bloke who scored all the goals and won nothing, or he can go to Bayern and start filling the trophy cabinet. The top players in retirement always look back on their career in terms of trophies - or lack of; the fact that Bayern win it every year is neither here nor there. When he retires, people will obviously point to the phenomenal goalscoring record, but they'll also ask 'what did he win?' No one can deny his loyalty to Spurs; he's earned this move, I hope he goes there and wins everything - it's the best move for him.
And could play tonight.Funny how international clearance seems a formality for big clubs and players.Meanwhile little old Barnsley have to wait days and days for our new centre back !
Mbappe, Messi, Haaland all in front of him in my opinion. Haaland will be the best in the world after this season, another 50+ season incoming. They'd be calling him the best now if he played for Madrid, the media darlings.
But he's won nothing at Spurs and still wouldn't if he had stayed there. At least now he will get some medals to show to the kids / future grandkids.
Good decision from Kane I think. He could easily stay at Bayern for the 4 years, win probably 10+ trophies then come back to England and have another 4 years to get Shearer’s record. Only doubt for me is sometimes his ankles have been a bit hit and miss but other than that, I can see him playing until he’s late 30s.
He would have been famous for being the best striker who never won owt !!! He’d tell his grand kids that it’s not all about winning. They’d reply “ yerrr whatever “
