    According to Alan Nixon, we're one of 5 league 1 clubs pursuing a deal for Birmingham striker Sam Cosgrove.

    Scored 12 in 40 on loan at Plymouth last season.

    26 year old, who was prolific in the SPL for Aberdeen before signing for Birmingham. Over 200 professional games under his belt, so quite experienced.

    Well, he fits the profile as a big target man in the Aylott-Shipperley mould and has the added advantage of being able to translate Collins' team-talks from his native tongue. We shouldn't pay over the odds, though. £500k max for me. Any more and it's a rip-off.

    It works both ways though.If he was our player I think you'd expect us to be asking more the £500K .We desperately need that kind of player though.If we got £200K for Norwood plus Brown bonus,considering we haven't spent much on transfers apart from Watters you'd think we'd go that bit extra to get him.Thoughts ?.

    They bought him for 2 million two years ago so would expect them to want to recoup some money back the problem for us would be are we willing to pay the wages to get a player like him.

    Can't remember the last player we were publicly linked with along with other clubs, and ended up signing.
    We tend to do our transfer business on the quiet, so if we are one of the clubs linked, according to Mr Nixon, Cosgrove won't be coming here.

    Reported to be on £18k a week so would need to take a huge pay cut or be heavily subsidised by Brum. Oh, and it's a Nixon story.

    Its not just them though! Its most teams. Its why I was happy when Luton got promoted over teams who spend extortionate amounts of money they don't have

    That’s us out then unless it’s a loan and Birmingham are willing to pay about £15,000 of his wages.

    I'd purposely omitted the 4 other clubs because I know what some people's reaction would be :D

    They're Derby, Blackpool, Oxford and Charlton.

    Blackpool want him on loan, but Cosgrove is after a permanent move. From yorkshire though, so maybe that gives us an edge?

    Imagine all four of those clubs, possibly with exception of Oxford, will be willing to pay him more than us.
