    He didn't play much for us, came with a big reputation but didn't do much early on. Was excellent for Blackburn and making appearances for bournemouth now

    I had to look twice at Dobbin at Everton!
    …On the subject of which, if you get a chance, see if you can find Pat Nevis’s BBC doc from last year “The Lost Final”. It’s about a long search for footage of Scotlands U18 Euro’s winning team of 1982. Jim Dobbin turns up in it and I fondly remember him being a first teamer at Oakwell when I started following the Reds in the late 80’s. According to wiki he covers Oakwell matches for Opta?
    As has been said on here before by others, his daughter Beth, is a current GBR sprinter; an Olympian and Scottish record holder, she won a team bronze at last years commonwealths.
