Thanks for all your responses my fellow BBS cohorts. I have just booked a table at Beatson House. My brother and I feel a couple of the House Special Barnsley Chops may have our names on them.

The Black Swan at Oldstead near Helmsley. Tommy Banks is the head chef. The Black Swan was voted the best fine dining restaurant in the world in 2017, so you can imagine the food is good. Expensive but not as expensive as The Star at Harome. The accommodation is also first class. Other suggestions:- The Angel at Hetton, the Crab &Lobster/Crab Manor and the Pipe & Glass at Beverley.
