Rolf Harris....... Dame Edna...... Harold Bishop....... Alf Stewart....... Bouncer...... Skippy the bush kangaroo..... Your Sheilas took one hell of a beating. Stick that in your didgeridoo ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Very true but if she didn’t feel she had the room to get the ball under control the option to simply pass it back was there
Only BBC News could send an Irish woman who knows nothing about football, to report on the World Cup. I suppose that’s what they mean by ‘impartiality’..
Re the 'low level football' comment in this thread, I have to say that technically the Lionesses just aren't low level nowadays. Some of their play is really, really good. What wouldn't we give for players with the pace and trickery of Lauren Hemp and with the strength and finishing ability of Alessia Russo at Oakwell right now.
Don’t understand why some people are obsessed with comparing to the men’s game. It’s not men’s football it’s women’s judge it on that and that alone. The English team is something special in its own right, one defeat in over 30 games is special. Look how many first team players are out and yet still deliver the strength in depth is unreal. Wiegman is clearly also special no one in competitive sport surely has a record to match hers?
For goodness sake’s @wolvestyke is saying he would like to see our players demonstrate similar skill levels not that we should have the likes of Russo and Hemp actually playing for us
You can only play the opposition. they've done that and now they're in the World Cup final..it's a fantastic achievement and all of us should be rightly proud...
I did my usual DVR and avoid news feeds approach, and watched it at 6:00 PST this morning. It was a good game, with some great goals. Yesterday's Semi was a good game too, and that second goal of Spain's deservedly won the game.
Do you call female Olympic gold medalists ‘low level’? None of them could win against their male counterparts either. That’s not how you judge what level someone is at though, is it? The World Cup finalists are at the highest level there is in their sport.
