Player going through the motions never getting 2m for him,Kitching clearly had his head turned decisive action needed on both. The problem with the transfer window been open it should shut pre the season starting. On Kitch tell Coventry what we want take it or leave it then it ends one way or the other,if there's any interest in Styles take the cash and move on he clearly thinks he's better than league 1 not that he's shown it in three games.
Not often I disagree with Fired but Styles was the least of our problems last night. He must have wondered who the hell he was playing with at times. Kane was not as authoritative as first game, and Russell, who I thought started OK faded badly and looked a liability. One particular header he chickened out of, against a lad 6" shorter, and one woeful attempt at putting a foot in, which again he sh@t himself and it turned into a beautiful pass to their on-rushing midfielder. Needs some aggression in his boots if we are giving him gametime (I do want him to come good). Not felt as down about a game since the final days of Asbaghi - hoping it is just a blip but it is early enough for us fans to work out we are not good enough to play sitting-back football. I hope those in charge can see it too.
Agree about Russell and I know exactly which "challenge" you mean. So frustrating because there was one in the first half where he stepped across their forward and easily outmuscled/held him off and won the ball - doesn't put himself about nearly enough as he should. There were a few games last season under Duff where I wondered wtf his plan was and where our players looked like they'd never met each other before - 0-3 v Wycombe, 0-2 v Exeter, 0-1 v Lincoln - all abject losses at Oakwell early in his tenure. Give Collins time and I'm sure he'll stamp his authority on things.
Actually thought Styles was our best player in the first half and was amazed at hearing some of the comments at the back of the Ponty at half time about him not looking bothered. Think some have an agenda because he's looking to get a move. Like everyone else he struggled in the last half hour but Collins needed to change things in midfield after an hour but never did. Phillips came on when we went behind but it was too late by then.

There was one particular occasion when we were under pressure, retrieved the ball and cleared it out, then stood about waiting for it to come back. Previously we would have pressed forward en-masse and relieved the pressure.

Crowd restless and urging to press, so a nervous Oli Shaw tentatively breaks forward, only to watch it go straight over his head. Poor lad didn't know whether to stick or twist, but it was telling that he seemed totally uncertain what his role was in that situation. Not the only one either.
i'm not getting the Phillips worshipping. If Styles was 372836293 times better than Kane on Tuesday, then Kane is 372836294 times better than Phillips will ever be. #HideAndSeekChampion
Take Phillips goals and assists out of last seasons side and would be interesting to see what a difference that would have made. Personally if there’s any midfielder I want on the ball in the final 3rd it’s him.
