What I don't understand is that many people were against Moore becoming our new manager because they said he played a different style/system to what Duff played. So we appoint Collins who has come in to the club and is playing in a different style/system anyway. We might as well as given the job to Moore because he at least knows the EFL and has had great success managing in league one
The last thing this squad needs is to be managed by Darren Moore. Nice fella but they need a rudder. A proper leader. A clough, a ferguson. Dare I say it, a duff. Jury’s out on whether Collins is that - but it won’t be much monger before the jury is back in.
2 things at least Moore had experience in English football and every Darren Moore team I've seen has always been well drilled and organised, wish I could say the same about this lot.
I wouldn't say he had great success. His tactics seemed to just be to have the best squad in the division and when he had a couple of injuries he couldn't adapt and the wheels came off. Duff totally out-thought him each time we played them, and only an incompetent referee saved him from being regarded as a failure and getting the sack.
You could probably add Steve Evans to that list . But we'll never get an old school football manager, leader of men, under this board, because he'll know more than they do and have the confidence to express it. That's not what they're looking for.
Did a great job a donny before that without the best squad, had west brom 4th before been unfairly sacked. He had the biggest wage bill with Wednesday, best squad am not sure.
He also seemed either out of hs depth or very nervous at the question and answers, on you tube i thought he looked very uncomfortable
Definitely didn't have the best squad in the division, he got the best out of an average bunch...... Maybe he's got some decent man management skills
Wanted to keep him but put a low release clause in his contract. Yes you could argue he wouldn’t have signed other wise, but that’s when you move on. Also the things we have heard about duff been told about the transfer plans for this season is looking very much the real reason he wanted to leave.
I heard from a fair-minded Wednesday fan that Moore asked for a quadrupling of his wage as they’d got promoted. He had been appointed on a Championship wage in the first place - so it was his unreasonable wage demand that got him the heave-ho. I can’t see Barnsley figuring in his thinking if he thinks he’s worth so much.
Yes that was the story Chansiri released, Moore never commented, so I guess it's down to whether you believe Chansiri has a truthful story in him.....
Probably, they seemed to have at least one above average player in each area of defence, midfield and attack. Much like us last season apart from we were lacking that quality player up front.
