    Well James cryne identified those but he was in charge when they were brought in. Mark crossley brought Adam Davies to the clubs attention. Scowen was signed a month before Wilson was sacked and I don't think he started a game under him he was another identified by cryne.
    And no ones tearing down his achievements just been honest about the 2nd spell, he then went on to help Chesterfield get relegated.

    Wigan at home under flicker, many games in Wilsons 2nd spell were dire. Altrincham under Johnson. Loads under poya and schopp. Loads to choose from.

    Was that the 4-0 opening day one? It made it worse that we’d just had the great escape & convinced ourselves the players were better than they were. It was a proper ‘back down to earth’ game that

    Yes that's the one and you're right made it worse after the great escape we were brought down to earth. Thinking after posting it could be more than 10 years ago that game.

    A prime example of tearing someone’s achievements down.

    Danny was the person who reviewed recommendations and signed players that’s the structure our Head Coaches live and die by.

    Wilson’s signings were largely successful. He just couldn’t get them playing as a unit. We did start the season with something like 5 pros on the books so not that surprising.

    Wilson went on record after saying he didn't want to bring in young players under 25s and wanted experience and cryne let him he chose to bring in the experience of lita, turnbull and treacy. And with scowen he was signed less than a month before wilson was sacked and like said I don't think he even started a game under Wilson.
    Yeah pre season wasn't great but the season got worse and the performances the longer it went on. When we was sacked in February we hadn't won away game since early November. I'm tearing none of his achievements from his 1st spell down.

    The game away to Huddersfield when Dawson and shea had a spat with the fans was a bad one too.

    TM is correct, Glynn Hurst never scored for Stockport against us. Remember him scoring against us at oakwell for chesterfield during the Gudjon reign when he we were dreadful.
