I had a partial replacement did have physio appointments but a lot of my recovery was doing exercises at home. Was difficult at first but over time got easier. It’s about 20 months since my surgery and although the knee likes to remind me at times it’s still there my recovery has been good. It is important you do the exercises they give you they do work.

I had full knee 2 yrs ago.
    Crack on with your physio.
You will be invited to physio at hospital.
    Important to keep it moving.
    Painful but will increase recovery

I had full knee replacement 6 years ago, would recommend to anyone to have it done if need be.....be sure to keep up with all exercises since you only have a certain number of weeks in which you can improve the bend in the knee, after that period you cannot increase the bend any more, as stated by ‘Bazza’ it’s painful but well worth it mate, good luck!

Had a meniscus tear in my right knee about 5 years ago, had the OP and now my left one is going, MRI in October, I went on a 3 week rehabilition/ course for my lower spine just before my knee op ( yes I'm broken) the physios and Royal Navy rehabilition team were amazing, they never stopped stressing the importance of Exercise, pre and post op. at the minute because of my knee it's obviously no impact stuff so I'm doing the Watt bike and cross trainer and it's working, it does take the edge off, they told us that people who have knee, hip etc ops think once the op is done it's finished , it isn't, the way they described it to us which I always remember is that with bad knees etc you will get muscle wastage, the muscle is the scaffolding for the knees, lose the muscle then lose the scaffolding and the chance of more pain increases, I also recommend stretching, Glutes, hamstring, calves, they are all tied into the knee, but please don't skip any recommendations off your physio, or just do 20 mins of exercise and think that's OK after being told to do 30 mins, at the same time you know your body and limitations, good luck

Get the exercises done, recover the best you can, and then have a knees up to celebrate.

Would echo the sentiments above. Get walking on it asap even if it kills. My old man did & his is fine. Walks regularly & cycles a bit on it with no issues but he properly pushed it initially. He was doing laps of the estate in no time.

Pulling the pork is good if you're incapacitated.

Had my full knee replacement in 2016 , had no trouble with it doing the physio really paid off . Best exercise put your foot in a plastic bag slide it back and forth on the carpet while watching tv. Use the handles of the bag with your hands to help increase the bend of the knee , it will hurt lol but worth it
