Looking sharp and a lot more involved this season. Seems to be a bit stronger too. I imagine we’ll bring in at least one more striker so it’ll be a tough ask, but I hope he manages to break through as a proper first team player.

I like how he's been given a chance due to good performances in the U21's. A good cameo today and hopefully he'll get more chances.

Also, it's a good example to the other youngsters to perform and see that there's a pathway to the first team if they perform.

I like the look of him. He effects games & looks comfortable up top, off a striker or either side. He’s got a bit of strength about him for someone pretty young & short. In limited cameos he scored in the league cup, assisted tonight & deserved an assist against Oxford. If he was given a start over Watters next week I don’t think anyone could say it was undeserved.

Played well last two games. Definitely would have him pushing for a start. Not gonna get in front of Watters, Cole or McAtee but be fourth choice for me. To be honest, it’s about time as I thought he might have for more opportunities last season.

He looked a lot more physical today than I have seen from him in the past. He isn’t the quickest but if he can make up for it with a bit of strength then there is a chance for him.
His all round football brain and eye for a chance appears to be fine so it’s all about the fine margins for him now.

I’ve been saying for last 2 years he should play more, the lad is class and he’s only going to get better. He’s streets ahead of Watters and Shaw, as is Jalo too IMO.

I’ve seen on Twitter people saying he only gets picked cos he’s a local lad and it f’ks me off. Even if that was the case I’d love to see a team full of proper Barnsley lads willing to die for the shirt, that’s what Patrick Cryne used to say too.

Put a excellent chance wide yesterday, but offside in the end (which was also his fault for going too early).... But put himself about made the second goal through good work.
He as no hight or much pace... But
He just maybe one of those naturals that can just find the net. And he grafts, the defenders pain in the ass late on.
So here we are.. looks like he's moved ahead of Shaw and Dallas already. Way too early for him to start but he does look something and as an effect late on in games. I see genuine promise in young Marshy.. and his buddy Ackroyd.

Can’t see us bringing another attacker after we got Macatee, defence has to be priority and possibly midfield depending on what happens with Styles & Connell.
