Brilliant result. With a couple of outstanding performances (also a few harem scarem moments).

I think Cole deserves a big shout, Roberts did everything he needed to do brilliantly, including making a fantastic save - but Shepard for me. Considering we're away at one of the best sides in the league, on his starting league debut, thought he was unreal, especially considering the jump up hes had to made. Fantastic from the young man.

Same for me. Impressed when I have seen him looks a fine prospect. Also felt Russell and Cole played well today

Some huge performances throughout the team today. Big shouts for Cotter, Shepherd and Russell. But for me it has to be Cole. His workrate was phenomenal all over the field, and he was instrumental in creating our chances when it was 11 v 11. Approaching his prime years as a striker now. His all-round game has improved so much since this time last year. A very important player for us.

Shout out to Marsh as well. When he came on today, thought when ball was at his feet he did extremely well. His little touch and dribble, then the lovely pass for the assist, was brilliant - hes really performing well in the few patches hes playing in. Looks slightly quicker to me too

    Went for Russell.

Also thought Cotter was really good, particularly the first half and then Shepherd looked brilliant too. He certainly looks to be the “layering” for when Kitching does leave us eventually. Devante worked hard and got a goal too. McAtee was also impressive in his cameo.

Feels nice to have a few to pick from after the last couple of games where it was mainly Roberts.

Russell was good. Cole was excellent a great through ball where watters should have done better, too fast for the man who got sent off, some great pressing and got the goal. But Shepherd stepped up when questions were asked. Anyone of those 3 for me.

Went for Shepherd, but Cole, Cotter, Roberts did well. McAtee looked good when he came on too.

What a pleasant surprise this afternoons viewing was. Finally we looked like a team again. Don’t think anyone had a bad game even Watters did a fair amount of good stuff off the ball. Shortlist of 3 for me but Russell shades it over Cole and Shepherd but all the defence looked so much better as did the midfiekd

If Russell can become consistent and realise that this is probably his last chance to use his talents in a decent team I genuinely think the skies the limit. The talent is there concentration and application need to match that.

He runs like a giraffe and his feet look like he's got clown shoes on. He just doesn't look like a footballer, which is why I think a lot of people just wrote him off as being rubbish when he made slow start, as he is quite ungainly. However, he is starting to look very accomplished now, especially as he's cut out making daft flicks in areas of the field where we really don't want to be losing the ball.

He seems to me to suffer from things coming too easy. He has all the technical ability in the world but that doesn’t necessarily make you a ‘good’ professional footballer

The key to that game for me was that our midfield absolutely bossed it and so the defence had little to do and was rarely under pressure. Kane totally ran the game from start to finish and was head and shoulders a class above again today. He even took a yellow for the team when Wigan were almost clean through after Shepherd and Lopata were caught out of position on the left. Mentions too for Cole whose first half was one of his best in a red shirt, certainly away from home and Russell whose awkward looking movements belied an actually very effective performance. If the forwards had been able to capitalise then we could easily have won 4-0 or 5-0. McAtee looked lively and dangerous when he came on and Roberts pulled off another great save at 1-0 when Lopata and Shepherd were too easily beaten in the air.

Phillips for me, but young Jack did exceptionally well in defence, it was a big ask starting the game and ge handled it well.

Got a bargain there. Having regular game time and a pre season behind him, we are starting to see the player we got more and more now.
