Think this is very harsh on Cole. He's improved loads over the past 12 months.

No I actually agree with you that we had better players back then and now we don't. My point was more that sometimes stats aren't everything.

Not sure he would easily be our best forward Cole scored more than him last season, both have started this season well. Different types of forwards but vic would walk into our 11 I agree with that.

Carlton Morris - 22 in 147 appearances before signing for us
    Kayode - 18 in 94

One thing you can't slate us for is knowing a striker over the last 7/8 years. Winnall. Moore. Bradshaw. Woodrow. Morris. Dike. Brown. Chaplin. Armstrong. Big Vic.

Yeah we get some wrong but that's a decent record over the last few years.

Or how quickly he's progressed/found his level playing first team football in League One v subs in Champ when he was with us? Or how well we did developing him from signing him from the Conference?

He doesn't rate Cole at all.

Unfortunately, when some people make their mind up, they refuse to change it. I wanted us to free up the wages for Cole and sell him if possible when first relegated, I didn't think he'd pull his weight in league 1. I was completely wrong and every time he scores I eat another bite of that humble pie. He's more than fine in league one. That chest down & pass from him btw, before the red card at Wigan when he received the ball back, was exceptional. I think not only has he improved as a striker, but overall as a footballer

It's not this that gets on my nerves - we have to cut our cloth accordingly and shop where we can afford to shop. I don't want to be paying Andy Carroll 15k a week or owt.

It's the off the field stuff that gets me at the minute. Like that stadium tour post from someone earlier. Or the shirts issue.

Maybe I've got my priorities wrong I dunno.

I think it would be a crap signing. Why are we signing someone Rotherham don't want FFS?

I agree especially with the part once folk make their minds up, he was great at Wigan not to mention the through ball for watters, that wasn't bad either.

We definitely need someone quick and powerful. Someone different to what we have. The lad we’ve been linked with from Wimbledon is apparently like that. Shame that’s fallen through.

Blackpool could have said why are we paying extra money for Charlie Adam when teams like Barnsley don't even think he's worth that much?!

Kieffer Moore wasn't wanted much but he turned out fine mate. Some players just click at some clubs. Adam Hammill being the perfect example. Sherite everywhere, legend for us

Let’s be honest we aren’t trying to put together a team to get promoted. Just one to stay in business. Pretty set now that I don’t think any signings we make now are going to be particularly exciting. All these plans we had yet it’s just been as chaotic a season as any other close season at Barnsley.

I’d say recent forwards such as Morris, Moore, Brown, Chapli, Dike, Winnall & Woodrow are a bit of an upgrade on Cole, Dallas and Shaw and that if any were still at the club then Vic would once again be the sub but hey what do I know. Maybe our current forwards are better than that lot. Maybe a chance at the Prem may still be on for big Vic after our ‘development’ of him / Burton’s development of him.

no we cannot use our critical facilities. Cole, Dallas and Shaw are our best ever forwards.
