Apologies if posted elsewhere, but I was having a nosey on the Carlisle forum at what they're saying about Joshua Kayode, and it seems there's rumours going around at their end that they're trying to sign Shaw. Considering the length of his deal here, I can only imagine it will be a loan, but Unsurprising really considering he's not had a sniff here since signing in January, and only seems to be getting further down the pecking order. Aside from that brief flash vs Port Vale, he hasn't really relished the odd opportunity he's had.
May be a good move if true...just hasn't worked so far for him here and Marsh and possibly Jalo in front of him in pecking order.
From their forum Kayode had a bad injury last season. I’d happily take him back but not on a loan. He knows the club and would settle quickly. Should be motivated to kick on and would benefit under simmo. Kayode is good in the air, and can hold the ball up. He doesn't seem to have progressed since his last spell here, but I'd not be adverse to him coming back. I’d be fairly happy with Kayode. Certainly more than some of the other names mentioned. He’s big, strong, good in the air, holds the ball up. He ticks a fair few boxes in terms of what we’re currently missing. Yes thats the problem. No progression.Walwyn and Oghani could hold the ball up.Do we want someone who jumps into defenders or a striker who scores goals. Kayode was brilliant for us, bags of potential and superb in the air. I’m sure he’d not be adverse to coming here either. Sounds like we’ve missed out on Kayode and he’s off to Barnsley. Absolutely stinks of a deadline day panic loan special this. We miss out on all the ones we shouldnt be signing and fail to dish out a handful of monster munch to those anyone with an eye for value can see.Whats wrong with us? I can see why Kayode pick Barnsley over us to be fair. Location wise it's easier, probably more money and not looking like a relegation scrap. The knock on effect might see Oli Shaw here if there’s truth in us being interested. Please please tell me now as Duran once sang why would we want an Olli Shaw.As previously stated I saw him against Ayr.What is he going to offer.I hint at a disappointmemt. Personally not seen Shaw play but if you’re basing your opinion on him off 1 game that’s a pretty flawed logic. He’s scored 43 goals in 177 games which is roughly 1 in 4, all in Scottish PL, Championship and cups. Is he what we need? No idea, sounds like more of a Dennis type than a target man. But can’t write him off from one game vs Ayr. Kayode by comparison averages 1 in 6 and also has major injury concerns, hasn’t done anything since his last spell with us 3 years ago.
Cheers for posting. A bit of a mixed bag there, but sounds like he might offer something different to what we've got already. If the club has identified him as someone we need, there must be reasoning behind it.
I think he's the sort of player we need. Physical, can hold the ball up and good with his feet. Different to what we have alreadyI. I've never seen him play though, so I'm willing to reserve judgement until I have.
I would be happy for us to let him go on a permanent deal. He's well down our pecking order and he will want to play more regularly.
